Abu Zhuri: Arab silence will not force Hamas to give up its positions

GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri stated Sunday that the Arab silence towards the suffering of the besieged Palestinian people in post-war Gaza and the building of a steel wall on its borders would not force his Movement to renounce its political positions and the national constants.

In a press statement, spokesman Abu Zuhri expressed his regret and dismay that the building of the steel wall on the Palestinian-Egyptian borders coincided with the first anniversary of the Israeli war on Gaza.

The spokesman called on the Egyptian government to facilitate the entry of Lifeline convoy into Gaza, noting that there is no justification for preventing the convoy from reaching Gaza by land.

He ruled out that Israel would wage another all-out war on Gaza, but he said the Israeli threats are escalating.

For its part, Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said Sunday that it would be more efficient during any coming confrontation with the Israeli occupation.

In a statement posted on Al-Qassam website, spokesman for the Brigades Abu Obeida underlined that the opinions of all fair-minded observers in the world say that Israel failed to achieve any of its stated objectives except for one, the killing of the largest possible number of Palestinian civilians and the destruction of everything.

Abu Obeida added that Israel was mistaken when it claimed its victory too quick and spread this lie among its "mindless and weak masses" in order to save its face.

The spokesman highlighted that Al-Qassam Brigades has the right to make and have weapons to help it resist the Israeli occupation that does not hesitate to use all internationally-banned weapons against the Palestinian people.
