[ 26/01/2010 - 06:26 PM ]
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Israeli war minister Ehud Barak has said that the settlement of Ariel is one of four major settlement blocs that would remain under Israeli control in any future permanent solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Barak, in a special session for the Labor party MPs at the parliament on Monday night, defended his decision to turn the Ariel college into a university, saying that his party was committed to this step within the coalition agreement.
The minister said that both the Israelis and Palestinians were interested in ending the current stalemate and restarting negotiations, which he expected to be renewed soon.
