Haneyya: Hamas inception was a step to correct PLO deviation

[ 14/12/2010 - 07:46 PM ]
GAZA, (PIC)-- Addressing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians marking the 23red anniversary of Hamas in Al Kateeba Al Khadra, Gaza, Palestine's Prime Minister in the Gaza Strip Ismail Haneyya said Palestinian reconciliation is the strategic option of the Hamas party, which has come to correct the deviation the PLO has fallen into when recognizing Israel.
Haneyya said Gaza was not intimidated by recent Israeli threats of sparking war in the region. “We fear Allah only, but we are taking these threats seriously.”
The Palestinian premier saluted Raed Salah upon his release from a five month-term in Israeli detention and Jerusalem lawmaker Mohammed Abu Teir as he marks his freedom, but renounced at the same time his exile to the West Bank.
“The month of December marks three occasions. On Dec. 8, 1987 the inception of the stone took place in the first intifada. On Dec. 14 was the first statement. On Dec. 7, 1992 was the exile to Maraj al Zuhur of Hamas and Islamic movement leaders, and on Dec. 27, 2008, was the Furqan war. There were also movements from other factions before the three decades.”
The common denominator between the occasions, he added, is that Islam was the custodian of these major events, and belief and faith, the first sparks igniting in the mosque.
The PM noted a significant decline in the Israeli occupation and the expansion of the Palestinians on the ground. “Some believed the occupation would grow with the passage of time, but today the occupation is on the decline. It left Gaza by resistance and steadfastness, and partially left the West Bank with resistance and steadfastness, and returned there because of absurd politics.”
Hamas's inception was a step in the path of correcting the deviation from the cause the PLO went on with when recognizing Israel.
“Hamas must say in correction of this deviation that Hamas will remain faithful to the rights of the Palestinian people.”
“Hamas did not fall, did not fail, and did not withdraw from the political confrontation, and today it advances with full confidence toward promoting steadfastness, strength, and unity.”
If elections were to take place, they would go to Hamas in the West Bank as well as in Gaza with a greater margin than the last elections, Haneyya went on to say in awe of the masses that attended the function.
Touching on Hamas's independence in decision-making, the Prime Ministet said: “We have many relations. It is a movement open to all, but that does not mean interference in decision-making. Some would like to say Hamas did not to sign Egypt's reconcilation paper because there is a decision from Iran, Syria, or Turkey, or that Hamas does not want reconciliation because it is subjected to regional decisions.”
“We keep our vow towards constants, we keep our vow towards unity, we keep our vow towards commitment to our people, we keep our vow toward openness to the world,” concluded the leader.

Hindi: Masses attending Hamas anniversary affirm support for resistance

GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Mohammed Al-Hindi, political bureau member of Islamic Jihad, has called for halting the negotiations process with Israel after its proven failure and to resort to national unity.

Speaking to the Hamas massive rally on the anniversary of its founding in Gaza on Tuesday on behalf of the national and Islamic forces, Hindi called for forming a unified national leadership of all factions that would determine future political steps.

He said that the huge masses attending Hamas's ceremony was a clear indication of the popular support for the option of resistance.

The Jihad leader said that Hamas boosted the resistance project in Palestine.

He said that the Fatah's authority in Ramallah should give up the negotiations process after it reached a deadlock.

Hindi asked the Arabs countries not to provide a cover up for any Palestinian concession, and rather to protect Jerusalem and the Palestine cause.

LONDON, (PIC)-- Tunisian Nahda (Renaissance) Party head Rashid Al-Ghanushi praised the Hamas movement in Palestine as having a track record that he said has saved the Palestinian question from becoming lost when the PLO entered the channel of negotiations.
Hamas's approach has brought hope back to the Muslims, and brought life back to the Palestinian cause in their hearts, Ghanushi told Quds Press on Tuesday.
“At a time when the Palestinian national enterprise led by the PLO started to decline and rely on grants from the enemy in the name of 'political solutions', negotiations, and the 'ten points', the liberation project in short, represented by the PLO, ended with the largest and richest liberation organization turning into a group of security organizations in service of the Israeli occupation deriving its legitimacy from every attempt to foil resistance.”
“In this way Hamas and the Islamic Jihad revived hope to the Muslims that there is an occupied people who are still resisting for the sake of freeing the land.”
“When the Palestinian cause was born, everyone who held that banner led the people. Jamal Abdel Nasser held it and led the people before it fell from his hand and Arafat held it. When it fell from his hand, the banner fell in the hands of [Islamic movement] and the movement started leading the Islamic scene through Hamas.”
“Hamas represents a victory to the moderate thinking in the Islamic movement. If it wasn't for Hamas, Al-Qaeda would be the alternative, but Hamas shouldered the cause on the ground of moderate thinking, and shielded the Islamic movement from being abducted by extremism.”
For his part, Guidance Bureau member of the Islamic Brotherhood Dr. Essam El-Erian said Hamas represents a qualitative addition to the Egyptian political area.
“I believe the state of hostility in Cairo that exists against Hamas is completely unacceptable and an irresponsible policy from our regime leaders, because Hamas can never be an enemy to Egypt. Egypt has only one enemy, the Israeli occupation. Hamas is an addition to Egypt, if Egypt corrects its strategic vision.”
