The former Jewish American ambassador to Israel (1995-97 & 2000-01), Martin S. Indyk, has criticized Barack Obama’s open support for a civilian government in Egypt because he feels a non-military government will be against the interests of Israel and US in the region. Martin is vice-president and director at Jewish think tanks Brookings and founding director of AIPAC-linked Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP).

Because the one who benefit the most from it are the people who don’t necessarily have our best interest in mind – the Islamists – who might not be as wedded to the (Israel-Egypt) peace treaty as the military“.

On Thanksgiving, the White House issued a statement advising the military junta ruling the country to listen to the genuine aspirations of Egyptian people and form a civilian government with real powers.
The United States strongly believes that the new Egyptian government must be empowered with real authority immediately. Most importantly, we believe that the full transfer of power to a civilian government must take place in a just and inclusive manner that responds to the legitimate aspirations of the Egyptian people,” said the statement.

Jewish Lobby is telling Obama that if his administration insisted on the removal of the military junta from power, the Congress will stop $1.3 billion annual US aid to Egyptian army.

Jonathan Cook in his book, ‘Israel and the Clash of Civilizations: Iraq, Iran and the Plan to Remake the Middle East’ has discussed in details how the Zionist entity persuaded the Bush administration to invade Iraq, as part of a plan to remake the Muslim East, and their joint determination to isolate Iran and prevent it from acquire nuclear weapons that might rival Israel’s own.

The renowned American Jewish scholar, Noam Chomsky PhD said in May 2011 that Washington is allergic to democracy in the Muslim world as it brings anti-Israel groups into power.
Across the region, an overwhelming majority of the population regards the United States as the main threat to their interests. The US and its allies will do anything they can to prevent authentic democracy in the Arab world,” said Chomsky.

On Sunday, tens of thousands of Egyptians filled Cairo’s Tahrir Square for another massive protest pushing the pro-American military junta lead by Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, to immediately cede power to a ‘national salvation government’ that will run the country until a President is elected.
Yesterday, the military junta held talks with two presidential hopefuls, former IAEA chief Dr. Mohamed ElBaradie and former Arab League chief Amr Moussa – both secularists and anti-Islamists. In the meantime, the military junta has appointed another Hosni Mubarak’s stooge and former Prime Minister, Kemal el-Ganzouri PhD, as the ‘care-taker’ prime minister.

Three US students (Derrick Sweeney, Luke Gates and Gregory Porter) who attended a semester at Cairo’s American University to improve their Arabic language, were detained earlier for throwing firebombs on security forces. They’re later handed over to US embassy and are back in the US. Derrick Sweeney is an intern with Israel-First Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer in Washington.
