Commandos from the military wing of Palestinian resistance movement, Islamic Jihad, ambushed on Friday an Israeli unit in Gaza's east, inflicting losses on the occupation forces.
Al-Quds Brigades announced that clashes between its commandos and an Israeli unit took place in the east of the Gaza strip.
The spokesman of al-Quds Brigades, Abu Ahmad, said that the Palestinian commandos ambushed an Israeli unit as it was trying to infiltrate to Gaza.
Abu Ahmad said that the commander of the Palestinian commandos confirmed that casualties were among the occupation forces, noting that shooting took place and explosive devices went off as the IOF tried to infiltrate the besieged strip.
The spokesman noted that the backup unit of the al-Quds Brigades commandos intensified its shelling to Kibbutz Nahal Oz in a bid to prevent the enemy from advancing to the clash area.
For its part, Israel Channel Two confirmed the event, noting that a unit from Golani Brigade was ambushed by a Palestinian resistance unit east of Gaza.
