The former CIA official Philip Mudd expected that the US airstrikes against ISIL sites in Syria would start in few days, stressing that the terrorist group endangers the United States, CNN reported.
Mudd, who worked in the field of counter-terrorism, said that the decision to strike IS in Syria has been taken and that the US army is gathering intelligence data about the positions of the terrorists.
Mudd added that the US must strike the strongholds, the recruiters and the leaders of IS in Syria.
He pointed out that IS endangers all the West as it has recruited 100 Americans, 300-400 Britons and hundreds of Germans and French, what enables this terrorist group to imperil their homelands.
