Israel providing Syrian terrorists with arms & providing medical care
Sun Oct 19, 2014 7:20PM GMT
Israeli political commentator, Ehud Yaari, says the Tel Aviv regime has provided medical treatment for hundreds of wounded militants fighting against the Syrian government.
According to a report by Washington Institute citing the Israeli analyst, more than 1,400 wounded Syria militants have been admitted to Israeli hospitals.
The report further noted that Israel has funnelled weapons, including rocket-propelled grenades, to militants in Syria.
Yaari added that some militant groups operating inside Syria maintain contact with the Israeli army, and have had secret meetings with Israeli military figures in the Israeli coastal city of Tiberias.
He also called on senior officials in Tel Aviv to join forces with the United States and Jordan to transform the area into a territorial base to train the so-called moderate Syrian opposition.
In September 2014, a leader of the foreign-backed Syrian opposition visited injured militants being treated at a hospital in the Israeli town of Dafed.
Kamal al-Labwani, who lives in exile in Turkey, said militants fighting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will never forget what he called Tel Aviv's humanitarian support.
Israel's Channel 2 News recently aired footage of a secret Israeli field hospital in the occupied Golan Heights that has treated over 700 Syrians, including militants, over the past months.
Damascus says Tel Aviv and its Western allies are aiding al-Qaeda-linked militant groups operating inside Syria.
The Syrian army has repeatedly seized huge quantities of Israeli-made weapons and advanced military equipment from foreign-backed militants inside Syria.
Syria has been gripped by deadly conflict since March 2011. More than 191,000 people have so far been killed during more than three years of foreign-backed militancy in the Arab country.
