Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian criticized the United States on Tuesday as being not serious in its anti ISIL campaign, while Iran and Russia are truly supporting Iraq and Syria in anti-terrorism campaign.
“Tehran and Moscow are seriously pursuing their strategic supportive policy of Syrian and Iraqi governments against the ISIL,” said Amir Abdollahian in a meeting with President Putin’s special envoy on Middle East affairs Michael Bogdanov.
He said that Iran’s four-article plan to resolve the Syrian crisis and Moscow’s ideas for solving that crisis democratically and through diplomatic channels have shared standpoints
.
Meanwhile, on difference of opinion between Tehran and Ankara on the Syrian crisis, the Iranian deputy foreign minister said that it is a strategic difference which can be resolved through continuous consultations.
On recent developments in Yemen, Abdollahian evaluated them in line with the interests of the entire internal and regional sides involved in that country and in case of Bahrain he said that national dialogue is the best solution.
“Iran considers the security of the Persian Gulf countries and the region as its own security and stability,” he added.
Hossein Amir Abdollahian arrived in Moscow on Monday evening for consultations on regional developments.
