Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hussein Amir Abdollahian stressed in a meeting with the Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir on Wednesday the importance of peaceful resolution of regional problems.
The two officials, on the sidelines of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) emergency meeting on Yemen, urged collective cooperation among regional states in all fields including establishment of security.
During the meeting, al-Jubeir also promised the execution of court decision in case of perpetrators behind the sexual assault to Iranian teenage pilgrims in the near future, a move which Abdollahian described as "positive."
The Iranian official urged regional states to cooperate for resolution of regional problems through political dialogue.
"Regional problems have no military solution," he said.
Iran suspended the Umrah following the harassment of two Iranian teenage boys at the Jeddah International Airport by Saudi security guards. The two were on their way back from Mecca on the Umrah pilgrimage.
The Saudi government informally apologized, but Iranian officials have declared that as long as a formal apology is not made, the entire Umrah flights will remain suspended.
