Iraqi Forces Control Entire Fallujah, Launches Fresh Campaign to Regain Mosul

The Iraqi forces managed after a 26-day fight against ISIL to regain control over Fallujah city in Anbar province although reports note that some narrow areas are still witnessing clashes between the Army and the terrorists.

In this context, the Iraqi forces liberated al-Madaneyin neighborhood and most of al-Dobbat street, according to Iraqi media.

The Iraqi forces said that ISIL terrorist burnt most of Fallujah hospital before they fled the battlefield.

Iraqi premier has congratulated the nation for the liberation of Fallujah from the grip of the ISIL militant group, saying there is no place in his country for the Takfiri terrorists, Press TV reported.

The Iraqi premier also promised that the liberation of Mosul – ISIL’s de facto capital in the country since June 2014 – is very close as it is the Iraqi forces’ “next destination” in their campaign to flush the militants out of the country.

The Iraqi forces, backed by the Popular Mobilization Forces, launched a fresh campaign to regain Mosul, the main stronghold of ISIL, starting from Qayarah city.

In Salahuddine province, the Iraqi army liberated al-Mashak village in north of Biji.

Iraqis Celebrate

Tens of thousands of Iraqis have taken to the streets across the country to celebrate the liberation of the strategic western city of Fallujah from the grips of the Takfiri ISIL terrorist group.

Regional Felicitations

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif extended a message to his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim al-Jaafari on liberation of Fallujah, a city in Iraqi province of Al Anbar in west of Baghdad.

Syria has congratulated the Iraqi people and government on winning back the strategic city of Fallujah in the Western province of al-Anbar.

”Syrian Arab Republic congratulates the brotherly Iraqi people, government and army over the victory and the liberation of Fallujah from the ISIL terrorist organization which poses a step in the process of eradicating this terrorist organization and its ilk in Iraq, Syria and the region,” a source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement to SANA on Saturday.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry welcomed in a statement Fallujah liberation, hailing Iraq’s efforts to defeat terrorism.
