RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Ahmed Jibril, the secretary-general of the popular front for the liberation of Palestine – general command (PFLP - GC) launched a scathing attack on the sixth conference of Fatah, saying this conference elected leaders of spies and collaborators with Israel.
In a speech at a graduation ceremony held by his Front in Damascus, Jibril said that Mahmoud Abbas, the former PA chief and Fatah leader, held the conference in Bethlehem in order to come up with a political agenda based on security relations with the Israeli occupation, calling on the patriots within Fatah to unite in the face of this plot.
He emphasized that those leaders are trying to hold the Palestinian division all the responsibility, noting that this division is old and not as a result of Hamas’s control over Gaza.
The PFLP-GC leader hailed the liberation of Gaza by saying that it was the first time a part of Palestine was liberated by the resistance, calling for maintaining this achievement.
In another related context, senior Fatah leader Nabil Amr asked Abbas to relieve him from his post as an ambassador to Cairo and as a supervisor of a new television station affiliated with Fatah.
According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper, Amr talked few days ago about negative interference and manipulation that happened in Fatah elections and his refusal to protest officially at any violations that took place in the elections, but he said he would protest according to his own way.
In the same context, Fatah sources told the PIC reporter on condition of anonymity that Fatah leaders in Beirut expressed fears of possible tensions that might happen after the election of Sultan Abu Al-Enein in the central committee of Fatah who is known for his great enmity towards the PLO representative in Lebanon Abbas Zaki.
The sources added that the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah also appointed its ambassador to Cyprus Khaled Al-Najjar as the PLO representative in Beirut and relieved Zaki from his duties.
