In a statement it released, Hezbollah read in the criminal act "a seditious attempt aimed at stirring strife and targeting return to warm relations between Lebanon and Syria."
The Resistance party called on the concerned security services to make every possible speedy effort required to uncover the culprits' killers in order to prevent this attack from being employed in the service of those negatively affected by the resumption of normal relations between the two countries.
In another statement it released, Hezbollah hailed a visit by Prime Minister Saad Hariri to Syria, saying it is a "step in the right direction."
The visit "puts things back on the right track," a statement issued by Hezbollah said. "Hezbollah, which has long called for clearing the atmosphere between the two countries, considers this visit as a positive development in line with its vision announced during the difficult times when the country was taken towards other options," the statement added.
While emphasizing the importance of this visit to regional and Arab dimensions, Hezbollah expressed hope that the trip would "contribute to strengthen the Arab stance in the face of threats of the Zionist enemy."
The Resistance party concluded its statement by calling on all concerned sides for backing such a step with additional positive moves by transitioning into a stage of putting practical processes in place in order to achieve the political, economic and social interests of both sides.
