GAZA, (PIC)-- The armed wing of Hamas, the Qassam Brigades, announced in a statement published on its website on Monday that it lost 1,780 of its members since its inception 22 years ago.
The communiqué, on the occasion of the Hamas Movement's foundation anniversary, said that resistance was adopted to fight occupation, and acknowledged that confrontation with the occupiers would take a long time.
The liberation of Palestine is the goal of the Qassam Brigades and resistance is its method in reaching that target, the communiqué added.
It said that the armed wing would continue to defend and champion national constants such as the right of return for millions of Palestinian refugees, establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and freeing all prisoners in occupation's jails.
