GAZA, (PIC)-- Two Palestinian citizens were shot dead by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in northern Gaza Strip at a late hour on Saturday, medical sources reported on Sunday.
Dr. Muwaiya Hasanein, the director of ambulance and emergency in the health ministry, told the PIC on Sunday that contacts were being made with the Israelis via the liaison department to evacuate the bodies of the two citizens whose identity was not known yet.
Local sources told the PIC reporter that the two men were scrap collectors, while witnesses told the reporter that the IOF soldiers fired at them on Saturday night and left them bleed to death.
Meanwhile, IOF soldiers demolished 12 sheds east of Nablus city, locals said, adding that the soldiers in 15 army jeeps escorted five military bulldozers in demolishing the sheds at the pretext that they were built in a military zone.
The Israeli high court refused a request by the Palestinian farmers to block demolition of their sheds after they were threatened by the IOF over a year ago with demolition.
In another development, armed Jewish settlers assaulted Palestinian farmers in Nablus and Al-Khalil districts on Saturday.
Eyewitnesses said that the settlers attacked the farmers in Iraq Burin village, near Nablus, while tending to their lands, adding that the IOF soldiers fired tear gas at the Palestinians when they confronted the settlers.
Three Palestinian farmers were injured in Beit Ummar, Al-Khalil district, on Saturday when Jewish settlers assaulted them under the protection of IOF troops, witnesses reported.
