DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Khaled Mishaal, the head of Hamas’s political bureau, stated Wednesday that all Arab leaders and officials he met during his regional tour completely understood the position of his Movement towards Egypt’s reconciliation paper.

“We have not met any leader or official rejecting the position of Hamas; everyone understood that the reconciliation paper should include all the points agreed upon by the Palestinian factions and forces and not be changed,” Mishaal told voice of Al-Aqsa radio.

He added that during his tour he explained to the Arab leaders that Hamas does not demand something impossible or difficult, or wants to return to the starting point, but it asks for a reconciliation paper reflecting the previous understandings reached between all sides.

The Hamas political leader noted that many Arab officials promised him to deal with this issue wisely without ignoring the role of Egypt in sponsoring the inter-Palestinian national dialog.

The Hamas leader highlighted that any signing of a reconciliation agreement would only take place in Cairo, denying allegations that Hamas wants to replace Egypt’s role with another one.

Speaking about the steel wall being built on Gaza borders, the Hamas leader explained that the thing which prompted Gaza people to use tunnels is the Egyptian unwillingness to open the Rafah border crossing permanently.

“The Palestinian people had to look for a source of living and to live a decent life, so they found themselves forced to resort to the trade of tunnels to ward off starvation in Gaza,” he added.

BEIRUT, (PIC)-- Mousa Abu Marzook, the deputy-head of Hamas’s political bureau, has called on Fatah faction Wednesday to review its political program and to return back to its original principles that gained it the confidence of the Palestinian people.

“We call on the leadership of Fatah faction to rethink the political program that they are following now, and we urge them not to make themselves a tool for a failed project, and to return back to Fatah’s original constants when it first started in 1965 and gained the support of the Palestinian people”, Abu Marzook said as he delivered a speech during the 7th conference of the International Quds Institution in the Lebanese capital Beirut.

Moreover, Abu Marzook invited Fatah to consider the Palestinian de facto situation, saying, “Look at Jerusalem and what has happened to it….. Look at the West Bank and what has remained of it…. And look at the results of the failed political settlement… Let all efforts unite to achieve your original slogan (revolution till victory)”.

He stressed that Hamas was never and will never become a “stumbling block” on the path of the Palestinian national reconciliation, explaining that Hamas has done all it could and displayed political flexibility for the sake of achieving the national reconciliation “as testified by Egypt, the sponsor of the Palestinian reconciliation”.

Abu Marzook warned that the Palestinian political rift only serves the “Zionist entity”

“All what we want is to sign the paper of the reconciliation based on the matters that we had agreed upon without alterations, deletions, or additions”, he said, adding that Hamas was ready to sign the agreement in Cairo, belying reports that his Movement wants to sign it somewhere else.

“Hamas didn’t ask for changing the place, Hamas didn’t ask Abbas to extend for the PLC and the PA presidency, Hamas never put conditions for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and Hamas’s leadership never escaped to the Sinai peninsula during the war on Gaza”, Abu Marzook underscored during his speech, confirming that his Movement doesn’t pose any security threat to any Arab country, and it was never part of the problem of any Arab country.

Furthermore, the Hamas leader hailed the people of the Gaza Strip, stressing, “Although we are still under the unjust siege, and although we have limited capabilities, we remained confident that victory could be achieved and possible with steadfastness and patience which forced the Israeli occupation to pull out of Gaza Strip unconditionally”.

In addition, Abu Marzook criticized the Egyptian steel wall, saying, “We could understand the construction of a wall by an enemy, but we couldn’t understand the construction of a wall under the ground between Gaza and the Egypt that is built with Arab hands”.

He concluded, “We dug the tunnels [along the Gaza-Egypt borders] to express our determination to live in dignity and to enhance our steadfastness”.

KHAN YOUNIS, (PIC)-- Dr. Khalil Hayya, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, stated Wednesday that his Movement wants to achieve the national reconciliation, but the other party (Fatah) refuses any real political partnership in the Palestinian arena.

In a political symposium held in Khan Younis, Dr. Hayya said that the Palestinian cause cannot afford the internal division any more and must be salvaged and protected through achieving the national reconciliation.

The Hamas official stressed the need to correct Egypt’s reconciliation paper according to the previous agreements especially with regard to the rebuilding of the Palestine liberation organization and the reform of the security apparatuses.

Speaking about the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations, he underlined that the project of negotiations which is adopted by the Palestinian Authority (PA) reached a deadlock as admitted by its negotiators themselves, noting that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is one of existence and not of borders.

In another context, Palestinian minister of interior Fatehi Hammad stated Wednesday, during a graduation ceremony of the martyr Sa’id Siyam batch of policemen in northern Gaza, that the
