Erdogan Hails Hamas as Resistance Struggling to Defend Land - Freedom Flotilla Survivors ask for a ship loaded with "humanity" to help Israel

04/06/2010 Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan rejected on Friday claims that the Palestinian Hamas resistance group was a 'terrorist' organization, calling for a clear distinction between terrorism and defending land.

In televised remarks in the central city of Konya, Erdogan emphasized that he did not view Hamas as a terrorist organization. "Hamas are resistance fighters who are struggling to defend their land," he explained, adding that the group has actually won an election.

"I have told this to US officials... I do not accept Hamas as a terrorist organisation. I think the same today. They are defending their land," he said.

ISTANBUL, (PIC)-- The Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, visited on Thursday nineteen wounded survivors of the Freedom Flotilla massacre, three of them in intensive care.

During his visit Erdogan sent condolences to the families of those who were murdered on the ship by the Israeli occupation forces and wished the wounded survivors a speedy recovery.

The wounded survivors told their story to the Prime Minster and confirmed that the Israeli occupation soldiers attacked them and tortured to death a wounded activist.

The wounded survivors asked Erdogan if they could get another aid ship, but this time to Israel and the ship loaded with "humanity" because of the lack of humanity they found in Israel.
