RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The Israeli military court in Ofer army camp has convicted Abdullah Abu Rahme, the coordinator of the popular committee against the separation wall in Bilin village, Ramallah district, of incitement.
The court charged Abu Rahme with participation in "illegal and unlicensed demonstrations" along with incitement and organizing "illegal" rallies.
The court, however, acquitted the Palestinian activist of charges of throwing stones and possession of weapons, which were leveled against him during the 30 hearings in the case held since his arrest on 10/12/2009.
The verdict was announced in a hearing attended by 17 foreign diplomats, consuls, and peace activists, who declared support for Abu Rahme and Bilin's peaceful anti wall struggle.
The popular committees against the wall and settlements in the West Bank have denounced the Israeli court ruling, describing its proceedings as "illegal".
