GAZA, (PIC)-- The Hamas Movement said that the kidnapping of its lawmakers in the West Bank and the raids waged on their homes and offices are part of a plan carefully prepared by Israel and the Palestinian authority to eliminate it completely from the West Bank.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told the Palestinian information center (PIC) on Wednesday that those lawmakers being kidnapped by Israel were harassed by the PA security forces which stormed their homes and offices, and arrested their relatives and acquaintances.

Spokesman Abu Zuhri stressed that this plan would fail to uproot his Movement from the West Bank or undermine it.

In a separate incident, security militias from the PA kidnapped eight Palestinian citizens affiliated with Hamas in the cities of Nablus, Ramallah, Jerusalem and Salfit, according to local sources on Wednesday.

The militias also summoned for interrogation a Palestinian woman called Jihad Fathi from Balata Al-Balad village in Nablus. She will also go to the PA intelligence headquarters in the city next Saturday for interrogation.

Two bothers from Al-Shyukh town in Al-Khalil city were reportedly kidnapped by the militias on Tuesday after they were summoned by the PA intelligence. They were previously detained by the PA preventive security after they were released from Israeli jails.
