Al-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Sheikh Ra'ed Salah, the head of the Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied lands, said that the Arab follow-up committee is making efforts to end the suffering of the five hunger strikers in the Palestinian authority's jails and address the political arrest issue in general.

Sheikh Salah told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that a delegation from the committee visited on Monday evening one of the hunger strikers in Bethlehem city and the other four in Al-Khalil city and saw that their health conditions are relatively stable but in need of constant medical follow-up.

He added that the committee met on the same day with head of the unconstitutional government in Ramallah city Salam Fayyad and director of the security file Abu Bashar and they promised to radically address the issue of the hunger strikers in PA jails in the coming days.

Head of the Islamic Movement noted that the hunger strikers still do not take any food, except some water mixed with milk, but they promised to drink milk in addition to water in the coming days if their fellow detainee Wael Al-Bitar was transferred from Bethlehem prison to Al-Khalil city where there are.

"We assured them (hunger strikers) as a follow-up committee that we came to visit them after a first meeting with Salam Fayyad, and we are convinced that this meeting will not be the last one, where there could be other meetings," Sheik Salah affirmed.

In a separate incident, a large force of PA security militias and intelligence men encircled on Monday night the house of senior Hamas official Sheikh Ezzat Shallaldah, 52, in Seir town, Al-Khalil city.

The PIC reporter there said that the citizens clashed with the militia men in an attempt to prevent them from kidnapping Sheikh Shallaldah and after the town elders intervened, the armed men withdrew, but they took with them Sheikh Shallaldah.

On the same day, five other Palestinian citizens affiliated with Hamas were kidnapped by the militias in the cities of Nablus, Al-Khalil and Tulkarem.

The militias also intend to hold a military trial against female prisoner Timam Abu Assaud who has been imprisoned in Nablus jails for more than 50 days, according to her family.

Sheikh Qaradawi: PLO and PA self-destructed when they cooperated with Israel

DOHA, (PIC)-- Head of the international union for Muslim scholars Sheikh Yousuf Al-Qaradawi stated that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian authority (PA) have destroyed themselves irreversibly through their security cooperation with the Israeli occupation, stressing the need for resisting this occupation.

Sheikh Yousuf Al-Qaradawi mad his remarks in a symposium held in Doha by the IUMS on the impacts of Judaization activities on the future of the Palestinian cause.

The Sheikh criticized the PLO and the PA for their security cooperation with the Israeli occupation, saying this cooperation is more dangerous than the inter-Palestinian division and thus must be ended immediately.

He highlighted that the Palestinians are not free to do whatever they like with Palestine for it does not belong to them alone or to a group of them, but to all Muslim and Arab nations.

The scholar also stressed that resisting the occupation and mobilizing the Arab and Muslim nations against it is the option of moderate people and should be supported.

The scholar hailed the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip, saying that Gaza became a forbidden Palestinian land that cannot be invaded by Israelis thanks to the death-defiance of Gazans and their resistance.
