Local Editor
Syrian President Bashar Assad stresses that Damascus is still powerful and will overcome the crisis despite the pressures it’s facing.
“Syria is able to overcome the current events,” the state-run news agency cited Assad as saying. “It won’t ever give up its stances, principles and sovereignty,” Assad added, according to the agency.
The Syrian president, also rejected “foreign interference” in Syrian affairs, SANA reported.
Assad’s remarks were on Thursday during a meeting with a Lebanese clergymen delegation of the Unitarian Druze community.
The talks dealt with the situation in the region, especially the events in Syria.
