Sayyed Nasrallah Appears in Person from Sayyed Shuhada Complex: Our Battle is with Takfiris, ’Israel’

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah

Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah tackled Monday a number of political issues in Lebanon and the region.

As he delivered his speech directly from Sayyed Shuhada complex in Roweis, in Dahyieh [Southern Suburbs of Beirut], Sayyed Nasrallah thanked Al-Mighty God for preserving all those who participated in the Ashoura gatherings all over our country.

No for Vaccum

On the internal front, His Eminence started with the issue of the Lebanese parliamentary elections as the parliament's mandate is to end soon.

"If we don't extend the parliament's term, we would be abolishing one of the state institutions. We only have three choices -- extension, vacuum or elections," he confirmed.

In parallel, His Eminence highlighted:
"We are never ready to never drag the country into vacuum. Unfortunately, they are accusing us of taking the country to the vacuum."

"However, we reject anything that would lead to the vacuum," he stressed.

Sayyed Nasrallah also mentioned: If we go to an extension, a National Pact violation would arise, because several Christian forces have rejected extension."

His Eminence further explained that
"the normal thing is to hold elections and we're ready for elections if you want it. We are also ready for an extension if you want that but we refuse that the country be deliberately taken into vacuum."

"All parliamentary blocs must offer to help House Speaker [Nabih] Berri in order to pull the country out of a major crisis, because paralyzing the parliament would be another blow amid the presidential void," he stated.

Moving to the Lebanese Presidential elections, the Resistance leader confirmed that
"we [the Lebanese forces] all want the election of a new president. We all want a president in Baabda as soon as possible."

He urged the political forces to work to restore this file from regional powers.
"A number of regional states are concerned with the Lebanese presidential election. Some are our allies and some are the allies of the other camp."

Iran, Syria Support Us in Electing President

"Can we take back this issue and turn it into a national issue?" His Eminence said, noting that " this step is easy from our side because our regional allies have nothing to do with the current obstruction. We have Iran and Syria, which have announced that they would accept anything that reassures the resistance."

Sayyed Nasrallah revealed on this level that
"Syria declared that it would agree on what is accepted by its allies in Lebanon."

"Iran wants the presidential vote to take place and wants the interest of the resistance, so neither Syria nor Iran are demanding anything in the issue of the presidential vote," he said, and noted that " "Iran, has said that the presidency is an internal file and we will not intervene, and it approves any candidate that makes the resistance comfortable."

His Eminence warned that "some have tried to link the Lebanese presidential file with the Iranian nuclear talks. This is a mistake because Iran refuses to connect its nuclear file with any other file."

According to Hizbullah Secretary General,
"The problem is in the other camp because our coalition can take a national decision. If the local forces want to engage in national dialogue, they must first liberate themselves from regional vetoes."

Aoun Our Candidate, LA Saved North

"The main dialogue must take place with our candidate, whose name is Michel Aoun," Sayyed Nasrallah added.

Regarding the latest security events in the North in general and Tripoli in particular, His Eminence emphasized that " given the data, information, truth gather; it became clear what was prepared to Tripoli and the North."

"God saved Tripoli and the North from a major plot and tragedy," he said, pointing out that " the Lebanese Army [LA] shouldered the main responsibility in confronting this threat, through its command, officers, troops, martyrs and wounded soldiers."

As Sayyed Nasrallah reiterated his confidence in the military institution, which is the real guarantee for Lebanon and for the existence of the state, he asserted that
"there is no alternative to the LA in preserving security and stability and in defending the state."

"The resistance has never presented itself as the party in charge of domestic security," His Eminence said.

Ready for Dialogue with Future

Moreover, he hailed the stance of the people of Tripoli and the Leaders of the Sunni sect there.
"The main factor that helped Lebanon overcome the crisis was the behavior of the residents of Tripoli and the North and the political leaders of the dear Sunni community. Had it not been for this honorable and decisive stance from all these Sunni leaders, things in Tripoli and the North would have taken another course."

On this issue, Sayyed Nasrallah highly appreciated "the stances of the prime minister, the Mufti and the ex-PMs."

"The main role was played by the Future movement and its leaders. We might have very different viewpoints on the regional affairs and things might reach the extent of rivalry and animosity, but our morals oblige us to take the right and patriotic stance and to thank them and appreciate them despite our differences."

In addition, he expressed Hizbullah's readiness to participate in the dialogue with the Future movement."
"During the last few days allied factions have told us that the time has come for a dialogue between the Future Movement and Hezbollah. We are ready for this dialogue."

Accept or Refuse Iranian Donation

On the support to the Lebanese Army, Sayyed Nasrallah said: " We totally back all what might support the Lebanese Army, including the Iranian donation."

"This donation is unconditional, Iran wants to help and we as a team declare that we do not want to embarrass anyone to accept it despite the fact that it would be helpful. We don't want to make a problem in the country over the acceptance of the aid. It's the Lebanese government's decision not mine. But this aid would help the Lebanese Army and no strings are attached."

Moving to the issue of kidnapped Lebanese soldiers, Sayyed Nasrallah elaborated that "the Lebanese government is seriously following up on the issue of the abductees in a serious manner."

"The case is complicated, especially if the other party [kidnappers] is not abiding by the most basic conditions for the success of negotiations, which is secrecy and confidentiality," he viewed.

He called the families of the abducted soldiers to show more solidarity and support for the government in its efforts to release their sons.

Regional Conflict Not A Sunni-Shia One

Moving to the regional issues, His Eminence warned that
"there is an error in diagnosing the nature of the conflict in the region, which is not a Sunni-Shiite conflict.
"We always hear in Lebanon and several areas in the region that there are large and serious conflicts, challenges and risks and that this is a Sunni-Shia conflict."

Sayyed Nasrallah mentioned:
"There is a great danger threatening the region. Isn't it worth to look at the causes of the disease?"
He provided the example of Libya:
"The conflict in Libya reflects two fronts... It is not a conflict between the Sunnis and Shiites: One front is supported by the Qatari-Turkish axis in face of the Saudi-UAE axis."
"Are the events in Egypt, the attacks on Christians in Iraq, the extermination of Yezidis and the fighting in Kobane related to a Shiite-Sunni conflict?" His Eminence wondered.

In addition, he stated
"This diagnosis is wrong, what is happening in the region is a political conflict. There are political and popular forces that struggle and work to achieve this project or that."

To the Shiites Sayyed Nasrallah said:
" Our battle is with the extremist groups that want to crush everybody as well as with "Israel" and not with the Sunni community."

For A Wide Participation on 10th of Muharram: Renewing Pledge

At the end of the speech, the Resistance leader called for a dense participation in the tenth of Muharram gatherings in the Dahyieh [Southern suburbs of Beirut], and to renew to Imam Hussein [PBUH] the pledge that we will not leave him no matter what happens.

"Tomorrow we will prove to the world and to Imam Hussein that we are above the threats and dangers," His Eminence vowed.
