Iran Warns Foreign Destroyers to Leave Drill Zone

Iran's war gameIranian Navy Commander announced two transregional destroyers observed over the past days in two areas of the war games were asked to leave drill zone, Mehr news agency reported.

Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari told reporters on Sunday that over the past days, two destroyers belonging to foreign countries appeared in two areas of Iran's ongoing war games.

Following the warning by the Iranian forces, Rear Admiral Sayyari said, the foreign vessels were finally forced to leave the zone.

“We had already warned that no country or party is allowed to be present at the drill region due to security issues,” Islamic Republic of Iran Navy commander emphasized.

Stating that many countries noticed the warning in the early days of war game, Admiral Sayari said the two destroyers appeared in two different areas of Mohammad the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) war games and moved out of the area following the warning by the Iranian forces.
Codenamed Mohammad the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), the war game began on Thursday and is scheduled to continue until December 30.

Iranian Soldiers Fire ’Maverik’ Missiles in 4th Day of Military Drill

iranian drillFighters of the Iranian Air Force on Sunday successfully fired improved Maverick missiles on the fourth day of the Mohammad Rasoulallah war game which is underway in southern Iran.

The maverick missile is an air-to-ground tactical missile (AGM) designed for close air support. It is effective against a wide range of tactical targets, including armor, air defenses, ships, ground transportation and fuel storage facilities.

The six-day maneuver started in a 2.2 million-square-kilometer area stretching from east of Hormuz Strait in southern Iran to southern parts of the Gulf of Aden.

It is being participated by various units from ground forces as well as air force fighters and navy vessels. It is aimed at improving rapid reaction of the Iranian armed forces.

The maverick missiles fired today have been improved by experts of Iran’s defensive industries.

Air patrolling as well as mid air refueling are parts of the operations to be launched on the fourth day of the military drill.

In the meantime, the naval forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will conduct mines weeping operations on Sunday.
