Obama Continues the Way Designed by Bush

By IBRAHIM EBEID

"It would be wonderful if the US president could apologize for the US-led invasion of Iraq on behalf of the American people." said Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa.

This honorable man's wish did not materialize because President Obama chose the way of Bush "to rile people every where" and adopted the "bully-boy attitude" of George Bush. His policies of war might continue to polarize our World and create more problems and hatred towards the United States and its leaders’ arrogance.

Mr. Obama promised the American people to stop the war in Iraq and withdraw the US troops. He promised peace and prosperity but his promises do not show any sign of hope or fulfillment

I listened attentively to the president's speech, hoping to find hope to end the war, but my hope dashed away because the president chose to expand the war and intensify it in Afghanistan and Pakistan. According to his speech, the occupation of Iraq will continue and his support to the government that came on top of the invading tanks will be strengthened, and as a result for the path he has chosen, sectarianism will rule, Iraq would be more chaotic and Iran would play a more destructive role in Iraq. All members of the so called Iraqi government belong to sectarian parties that were established and supported by Iran

The president did not deviate from Bush's stand but continues to utilize it to dupe the American people to be behind the US Imperialist schemes to dominate the world and to suffocate every hope for freedom and independence. Mr. Obama claims that the American soldiers "have fought against tyranny and disorder." And he adopted the same slogan of Bush and his administration after failing to find the "weapons of mass destruction." He could not be more clear when he reiterated to the troops at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina: "And so I want to be very clear: We sent our troops to Iraq to do away with Saddam Hussein's regime — and you got the job done. We kept our troops in Iraq to help establish a sovereign government — and you got the job done. And we will leave the Iraqi people with a hard-earned opportunity to live a better life — that is your achievement; that is the prospect that you have made possible".

This is not true Mr. President, this is a lie. There was no tyranny and disorder in Iraq, Iraq was sovereign. Iraq had a legitimate secular government, it had institutions, security, and life was going on normally and peacefully. Iraq was the most advanced country in the area. Poverty and unemployment were unknown to Iraqis. Education and medicine were free and there were electricity and pure water in every house in Iraq, until your predecessors launched the war and imposed a genocidal blockade in 1991 which paved the way for the invasion, occupation and destruction of its institutions and put its economy in ruins, and caused the death of more than two Million people. Its legitimate leaders were put in jails and many of them were assassinated and executed because they were proud Iraqis who built Iraq and refused to put their country and its wealth under the US- Zionist domination. Saddam Hussein and the regime of Iraq were the hope of the Arab Nation for prosperity, unity and security, not only for the area, but for the entire world. The imperialist armies of the US and its allies shattered the hope and put Iraq way below poverty level; its scientist and educators were assassinated and the majority was forced to leave the country for safety. Now, universities and the education system are run by illiterates who consider science and education a taboo under the "sovereign government" that you helped to establish, a government that is isolated and besieged in the "Green Zone".

We know that the reason behind the occupation of Iraq was oil and Israel and Mr. Obama knows it, and for this reason he chose to keep a substantial force in Iraq to reinforce the US imperialist aims and to continue the way designed by Bush. He chose to keep the secretary of defense in place along with the top general to continue the occupation, and no wonder that John McCain jumped on the wagon with Obama. The plans were designed since 1991 and were crowned by building the largest US embassy in the world, right in Baghdad, with thousands of CIA and military agents to keep Iraq and the area under US Zionist domination. Mr. Obama talks about withdrawing most of the troops from Iraq but he does not mention the huge army of mercenaries employed by the United States to continue the military mission in Iraq.

If President Obama is really sincere about leaving Iraq to the Iraqi people then, he should contact the true representatives of the Iraqi people, the Iraqi National Resistance led by Izzat Ibrahim Al Douri, the legitimate president of Iraq. The Resistance is the only one that is able and capable to rebuild Iraq and to bring peace, security, democracy and progress otherwise American soldiers will keep dying and the shattered economy will worsen and the US economy will collapse.

Not only is Obama a lazy slacker who is spending millions of dollars entertaining and smoozing late into the night at the White House, but he is a confirmed narcissist with no real interest in the day to day work of being President.
