Another Israeli Mossad-Linked Cell Uncovered in Sidon

25/04/2009 Once again, Lebanese security forces were able to discover an Israeli Mossad-linked cell operating in Lebanon!

Indeed, well-informed sources told Al-Manar on Saturday that the security forces arrested at down three members of a new cell linked to the Israeli Mossad in Sidon in southern Lebanon,

According to the sources, the arrested agents were two Lebanese and a Palestinian. One of the Lebanese (A.K.) was from Zahle while the other (M.M.) is from the southern town of Zebdine. The Palestinian member of the cell (A.A) was reportedly the cousin of Abdul Rahman Awad, believed to be the successor of Fatah al-Islam leader Shaker Abssi.

The sources noted that the investigations with the "al-Alam cell" contributed in uncovering the new cell, emphasizing that its members are focusing on the potential link between the two cells and whether the new one was working independently or not.

Police lately uncovered an Israel spy network dubbed "al-Alam cell." Former security services officer Brigadier General Adib al-Alam, his wife Hayat Saloumi and nephew Joseph Semaan al-Alam - also a security official – were charged on Thursday with spying for Israel. They are accused of informing Israel about Lebanese and Syrian military and civilian sites with the aim of facilitating Israeli attacks.
