The military said a "professional mistake" caused soldiers to target the civilians instead of a nearby house that they suspected was being used to store weapons.....In another case, the military said, soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian woman who apparently was attempting to return to her home, which Israeli forces had seized. The soldiers suspected that the woman might be a suicide bomber, but later determined that she was carrying no explosives.....The Israeli military admitted that a white phosphorus shell it fired set a central United Nations warehouse ablaze, but said that its soldiers were legally using the shells to create a smokescreen during fighting with Hamas militants.....In an apparent reference to a late-night Israeli air strike that killed three Palestinian boys who were going to the toilet while seeking refuge from the fighting in a U.N. school, the Israeli military admitted that it had targeted the school because it suspected that the boys were militants....The Israeli military also dismissed allegations that it needlessly demolished hundreds of Palestinian homes and said it made sure that all the homes were empty before destroying them.... Israeli human rights groups said, 16 Palestinian medics were killed during the fighting, and another 25 were wounded. The Israeli report looked at seven cases and concluded that five were "Hamas operatives," though under international law, that wouldn't justify opening fire on the ambulances unless they were being used to transport fighters, arms or ammunition. ....acceptable to kill an ambulance driver transferring innocent patients ..."
Radwan: Israel issues reports to acquit its leaders from committing war crimes

GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Ismail Radwan, a senior Hamas official, said Wednesday that the report issued by the Israeli occupation authority that says Israeli occupation forces acted during the war on Gaza according to international law is a Nazi policy aimed to exculpate Israeli war criminals.
In a press statement received by the PIC, Dr. Radwan underlined that the IOF troops try, through such reports, to clear their names of committing war crimes in Gaza and to appear as if they respect the international law.
"How did their alleged report justify the murder of families of Abu Eisha, Al-Samoni, Al-Wadia, Ba'lousha and many other families who were eradicated in cold blood by their army? And how did their report explain the killing of 40 Palestinian citizens in Al-Fakhurah school before TV cameras?" The Hamas official questioned.
In another context, MP Mushir Al-Masri, the secretary-general of the Hamas parliamentary bloc, on Wednesday warned the IOA of escalating its repressive measures against the Palestinian prisoners in its jails, the latest of which was its decision to impose the orange uniform on them.
In a press statement received by the PIC, MP Masri said that the prison administrations' persistence in humiliating the prisoners would have serious repercussions, holding the IOA fully responsible for the safety of prisoners.
The lawmaker stressed that all these attempts used by Israel to pressure the Palestinian resistance to make concessions on the prisoner swap deal would not succeed, but rather it would make the resistance more eager to capture Israeli soldiers to swap them for Palestinian detainees.
