EU parliamentary delegation: Conditions in Gaza horrific

AMMAN, (PIC)-- The chairman of the European parliamentary delegation that visited Gaza Strip recently has called for the formation of an independent investigative committee to investigate the Israeli occupation forces' invasion of the Strip.

Miloslav Vlcek, the Czech parliament speaker, in a press statement published in the Jordanian papers on Sunday during a visit to Amman along with the big parliamentary delegation that visited Gaza said that the situation in Gaza is "horrible and is much more than we read about or watched on the various media outlets".

He explained that the visit to the Strip was relatively short but was very important and targeted getting first hand information on the complete image there.

The delegation got acquainted with "horrific" conditions and listened and saw many thing, which helped the members to reach a single view, Vlcek said, adding that the delegation would table the facts with the international quartet committee.

The 41-member delegation recently visited and toured the Strip in a bid to prepare a report on means of supporting the Palestinian people and exposing the Israeli practices against them.
