OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Archbishop of Sabastia Attalla Hanna has said that the sanctity of occupied Jerusalem is threatened by the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) that is threatening its mosques, churches and identity.
He charged in an address to a Christian human rights conference in Los Angeles on Tuesday that the IOA was targeting the holy city's Islamic and Christian presence.
The Palestinians, despite their sweeping majority in the West Bank, are deprived of reaching the Aqsa Mosque to offer their religious rituals due to IOA military barricades and racist wall, Hanna underlined.
He said that all human beings should express solidarity with occupied Palestine and Jerusalem regardless of their religion or race.
The Archbishop called on all human rights groups and media and political institutions to monitor the IOA violations of human rights in occupied Palestine, and appealed to them to work on lifting the oppression befalling the Palestinians.
Hanna said that the IOA does not only target the holy shrines but also the Palestinians where they are treated as aliens in their own city and capital.
He explained that Palestinians in Jerusalem live in constant anxiety as they always fear that one day their homes might be knocked down or that they would be displaced out of their hometown.
