GAZA, (PIC)-- The Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas Movement, renewed insistence on capturing more Israeli soldiers to exchange them for Palestinian detainees in Israeli occupation jails.

Abu Obaida, the Qassam spokesman, said in a statement on Tuesday that his armed wing would continue in its attempts until the last Palestinian prisoner is liberated.

Abu Obaida was speaking in the course of a report published by the Qassam website on its attempts to capture Israeli soldiers, recalling that the first such attempt was in October 1993 when two Israeli soldiers were captured while vacationing in Jericho.

He said that the repressive measures against Hamas prisoners in occupation jails would only double the armed wing's insistence on its conditions for the release of the captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

"Shalit will not be the last," Abu Obaida said, adding that his armed wing would not reveal for now the secrets of the operation that led to the capture of Shalit in 2006.
