GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Mahmoud Al-Zahhar, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, stated that the dispute over the signing of the Egyptian reconciliation paper lies in his Movement’s desire for a final agreement including all details and not principles and guidelines to be agreed upon later.

In a press statement to the Saudi Okaz newspaper published Friday, Dr. Zahhar added that the central electoral committee is the most prominent contentious issue between his Movement and Fatah faction, stressing there should be a consensus on its formation.

He also highlighted in another context that Mahmoud Abbas is still an illegitimate chief of the Palestinian Authority (PA) despite the decision issued by the central committee of the Palestine liberation organization (PLO).

In another context, the Movement of Hamas vindicated the report issued by the British Guardian newspaper on the involvement of the CIA and Abbas’s security apparatuses in torturing Hamas cadres in West Bank jails, asserting that its verification is based on the stories of ex-detainees.

In a statement, Hamas accused US officer Keith Dayton of planning to eliminate its cadres in the West Bank and cooperating with international security companies to implement his plan.

Hamas considered Dayton persona non grata in Palestine and demanded him to leave for the US. It also called on US president Barack Obama to end this policy which serves the occupation and spreads sedition between Palestinians and to immediately recall Dayton from the West Bank.

For its part, the Movement of Islamic Jihad said it was not surprised to hear about the Guardian’s report on the brutal practices perpetrated by the American intelligence and Abbas’s militias against the Palestinian resistance and its supporters in the West Bank.

Representative of Islamic Jihad in Lebanon Abu Imad Refai said that the US is internationally notorious for practicing heinous torture acts against detainees worldwide at the pretext of terrorism.

Refai underlined that many reports and information received from the West Bank clearly confirmed that the PA entrusted the supervision of its security apparatuses to Dayton who brainwashed their individuals and turned them into an integral part of the Israeli security.

In a related development, Abbas’s militias kidnapped during the last two days 13 Palestinian citizens affiliated with Hamas including member of Hamas’s political bureau Tayseer Imran and deputy head of the municipal council in Nablus Mahdi Al-Hanbali after storming their homes and work places in the districts of Jerusalem, Nablus and Tulkarem.
