NAZARETH, (PIC)-- Militias loyal to former PA chief Mahmoud Abbas have foiled an attempt to fire a locally made rocket from the West Bank at Israeli targets, Hebrew press sources revealed.
Hebrew daily Ma'ariv said that the militias arrested a resistance cell and the locally made rocket two weeks ago and delivered the rocket to the Israeli army.
The paper claimed that the cell members confessed to being members in the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, and to planning to fire the rocket at an Israeli target.
The Israeli army radio noted that cooperation between the Fatah-controlled militias and the Israeli army was escalating under the supervision of the American Gen. Keith Dayton.
Meanwhile, Abbas's militias rounded up five supporters of Hamas Movement in the districts of Ramallah, Jenin, Al-Khalil and Qalqilia, a Hamas statement in the West Bank said on Tuesday.
