Dweik addresses message to Abbas to facilitate convening of PLC session

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Dr. Aziz Al-Dweik, the speaker of the Palestinian legislative council, has asked Mahmoud Abbas, the PA chief whose tenure expired over a year ago, to facilitate means of holding a PLC session in early March.
Dweik, in a press release on Monday, said that the session would attempt to end the PLC's paralysis and exploit the prevailing positive atmosphere to restore reconciliation.
He said that the PLC would assume its pioneering role in boosting such an atmosphere and to protect the Palestinian land and holy shrines.
The speaker said that he addressed this message after receiving a memo signed by more than one third of the PLC members asking him to hold an emergency session to discuss latest developments topped by the Judaization of Jerusalem and national reconciliation.
