28/05/2010 Two days after the speech delivered by Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah in the occasion of the Resistance and Liberation Day, the Lebanese internal scene doesn't seem to be 'calm'…
"Who's exposing Lebanon to the Israeli enemy" turned to be the season's question thanks to one single expression in Sayyed Nasrallah's speech, a question which seems to have various answers despite its clearness and transparency.
A single expression said by Sayyed Nasrallah was enough to "provoke" those who wait Hezbollah Secretary General's speeches in order to "comment" and prove that they're still in the scene.
"Anyone who forsakes the equation of 'the people, the army and the Resistance' wants to intentionally, and not unintentionally, expose Lebanon to Israeli aggression," Hezbollah Secretary General said in his speech, backing the comments earlier made by President Michel Sleiman in the same context.
The Lebanese Forces chief felt that he was 'concerned' by Sayyed Nasrallah's remark and therefore rushed to 'hit back' with his fantastic 'logic' that led him to the wonderful conclusion that actually, Hezbollah is the one and only one exposing Lebanon to the Israeli enemy. "Hezbollah is shifting Lebanon from its neutral stance to the defense line of Iran without the will of its people, government and parliament," Geagea claimed. "The region is unstable and boiling and Hezbollah is putting Lebanon in a hot oil cooking pot," Geagea went on to say.
While it became a "tradition" to see Geagea holding press conferences with the only aim to comment Sayyed Nasrallah's speeches, Hezbollah rarely does the same thing. In a TV interview on Thursday, member of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Nawwaf Moussawi declined to comment and said that there was a decision within the Resistance party not to hit back at Geagea's statements.
Hezbollah's "ally" took charge of the mission…
On Thursday, the head of the Change and Reform parliamentary told Lebanese daily As-Safir that actually, Geagea's comments are the ones that expose Lebanon to the enemy and that give the enemy the right to do the work that is being done.
"Lebanon is already exposed, and Hezbollah is trying to build a deterrent force to repel any attack on Lebanon," he explained.
WHY DO SOME LEBANESE WANT TO ASSURE ISRAELIS!
Lebanese analyst Wassef Awada wrote in As-Safir, pointing to the comments made by some March 14 "spokesmen" following Sayyed Nasrallah's speech, finding strange these spokesmen's strategy to "assure" the people who felt worried thanks to the speech, a few minutes after its end.
Awada was pointing to the affirmations made by some Lebanese who claimed that Sayyed Nasrallah's speech was just a part of the "psychological war" between Hezbollah and the Israeli enemy. He said that had it not been for shame, those politicians would have told Israelis not to believe the Sayyed.
The Lebanese analyst went on to wonder why some Lebanese actually want to assure the Israeli enemy at the time the Resistance is making every possible effort to reassure Lebanese concerning their future and fate. He also wondered about the reasons pushing these Lebanese to insist not to learn lessons historically set by the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Awada expressed regret because this political group is dealing with the issue from a very narrow perspective and is sometimes giving, intentionally or unintentionally, priority to the enemy's interest instead of their country's one.
According to Awada, the same group is seeking day after another to provoke the Resistance in order to provoke it to commit a mistake. However, he expressed belief that the Resistance perceives well all this, before concluding that Lebanese, and especially this bloc, should thank God one thousand times because our Resistance is rational and that its leader is wise, urging them to pray that this Resistance would never turn crazy.

"...Samir Geagea will likely be a no-show at the next round of National Dialogue, amid the latest controversy over the country’s defense strategy.... While the new date for National Dialogue – June 17 – will stand, the LF’s Geagea said Friday that he had “other engagements” that would prevent him from attending. ......But Geagea’s declared intention to stay away will likely revive debate over the feasibility of discussing a national defense strategy in light of the current political polarization...."Only I knew how to defend Lebanon ... against the People of Lebanon..."Geagea’s criticism of Sleiman has sparked a host of angry reactions, after the LF leader said the president behaved inappropriately by endorsing the “people, army and resistance” formula of national defense. Geagea said Sleiman’s endorsement of the formula during an interview this week to mark Liberation Day, signaled that he had deviated from his role as a consensus president and neutral arbiter of the National Dialogue session, set up to discuss items such as the defense strategy. Geagea’s remarks prompted an array of statements of denunciation, as former Prime Minister Omar Karami advised the LF leader to pull his representatives out of the government if he disagreed with its policy statement...."
