Zionist settlers burgle Sarafand mosque

[ 23/05/2010 - 11:26 AM ]

NAZARETH, (PIC)-- The Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage accused Zionist settlers of burgling the Sarafand mosque in Haifa district, occupied in 1948.

Samir Darwish, a member of the foundation's board of directors, said that he did not trust the Israeli police in finding the perpetrators

He added that his foundation would protect the mosque and its property and would continue to have prayers there and would never give it up.

Inhabitants of Al-Freedis, who offer their prayers in that mosque, charged Zionist settlers of perpetrating the crime in a bid to bloc prayers in it.

The Islamic Movement in 1948 occupied Palestine organizes Friday congregations on the remains of the mosque ever since the Israeli bulldozers razed it back in 2000 and continued to obstruct prayers in it through damaging the road leading to the mosque and giving a blind eye to repeated burglary of its content.

The Sarafand village was amongst over 500 Palestinian villages destroyed by the Zionist gangs in 1948 when they occupied the land of Palestine and established their state.
