GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said that the visit of head of Shin Bet Yuval Diskin to West Bank cities, the latest of which was to Jenin, is aimed at enhancing of the security cooperation between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA).

Spokesman Abu Zuhri told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that this visit proved further the high-level security collaboration between Fatah faction and Israel and their joint operations against the Palestinian resistance fighters and the citizens supporting or affiliated with Hamas.

For its part, the Israeli Haaretz newspaper reported that Diskin held a secret meeting in Jenin on Sunday with Mahmoud Abbas's top security officers in order to promote the relations and security cooperation between the two sides.

The newspaper said that Diskin's visit to Jenin was the second of its kind which he made to the PA's territories in recent months, where he had visited Ramallah city before, pointing out that Diskin was warmly welcomed by Abbas's officers and stayed the whole day in Jenin.

In the same context, prisoner and senior Hamas official Ra'fat Nassif expressed his extreme dismay at the meetings taking place every once in a while between Fatah's authority and Israeli officials.

Nassif said in a letter leaked Monday from his cell that such meetings make a mockery of the sacrifices made by the Palestinian people and provoke their national feelings.

He underlined that these meetings provide a cover for Israel's ongoing crimes against the Palestinians, burnish its image before the world, serve as a lifeline for its war criminals, and justify its settlement and Judaization activities.
