Military report criticizes planners' failure to deal with Freedom Flotilla

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- News reports said Monday that the Israeli military investigation into the deadly attack on the Freedom Flotilla aid convoy revealed that the operation's planners failed to make proper preparations to confront the convoy.

According to the news reports, the military probe committee led by a senior Israeli (retired) officer called Giora Eiland will announce later the results of its investigation into the incident.

Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper also published excerpts of the report prepared by Eiland's committee, saying that the probe results revealed deficiencies in the intelligence information and military preparations prior to the raid on the Turkish Mavi Marmara ship that participated in the convoy.

The newspaper noted that Eiland's committee did not include in its report recommendations against commanders or soldiers, but the probe results raised speculation that the military records of senior officers could be affected.
