GAZA, (PIC)-- Member of Hamas's political bureau Dr. Khalil Hayya categorically denied that his Movement received an offer from Egypt or other parties at the end of December 2008 calling for extending its truce with the Israeli occupation state.

In a political symposium held on Monday in Gaza, Dr. Hayya denounced those who blamed Hamas and held it responsible for the Israeli war as criminal and evil.

"The factions' assessment of the situation at the end of December 2008 was clear and united that the Zionist enemy did not abide by the truce, but despite that the factions said 'if the enemy attacked the Gaza Strip, we would defend ourselves' and they did not declare a war," the Hamas official underscored.

He stressed that the war decision had already been taken and all preparations were made to wage the war on Gaza people.

The official noted that the defensive, social, spiritual, organizational and political strength of his Movement is much bigger today than it was before the last Israeli war, but he said that these capabilities are much less if compared to the huge numbers of advanced weapons possessed by Israel.
