Egypt Allows Asia 1 Convoy into its Territories, Bans Iranian Activists, Aids From Entering


Organizers of Asia 1 convoy to break the siege on Gaza, told Alintiqad.com that the Egyptian authorities allowed the convoy to enter the Egyptian territories, and from there towards Gaza.

The Egyptian authorities on the other hand, did not allow the Iranian activists participating in the convoy, in addition to the aids they carried, into Egypt.

According to Alintiqad.com, the organizers said that Egypt's authorities allowed in its territories 120 activists out of the total 170, giving the convoy the freedom to choose the individuals, under the condition of not having any Iranian among them.

After 20 Iranian activists were no allowed in, 50 others will also be banned from entering Gaza, due to the conditions set by Egypt.

The Asia 1 organizers have not yet adopted any decision concerning the Egyptian measures, but they confirmed that they will contact the Egyptian embassy in Damascus, and ask the authorities to cut down the conditions.

Asia 1 convoy to break the siege on Gaza, was supposed to arrive in Gaza by 27 December, but was delayed due to the Egyptian authorities' delay in giving the convoy approval to enter their territories.
