NABLUS, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnapped at dawn Wednesday 18 Palestinian citizens in the West Bank, most of them from Nablus city, during violent raids on their homes.

The Hebrew radio reported that 18 wanted Palestinians were taken to interrogation centers after a wide military operation in the West Bank today.

Palestinian locals in Barqa village near Nablus said that a large number of Israeli troops stormed homes in the village and kidnapped 15 young men.

In another context, specialist in prisoners' affairs Abdulnasser Farwana stated that 303 Palestinians are the number of detainees who have been in Israeli jails since the period before the Oslo agreement and the establishment of the Palestinian authority in May 1994.

These prisoners are known as veterans because they spent more than 17 years in Israeli jails, and according to Farwana they are from different occupied Palestinian areas, including Gaza and the 1948 occupied lands.

He noted that Israel insists on excluding these long time prisoners from any swap deal with the Palestinians, especially the detainees from the 1948 occupied lands at the pretext they are Israeli citizens.

WEST BANK, (PIC)-- The Fatah-controlled Palestinian authority (PA) relentlessly continues kidnapping and summoning Palestinian citizens in the West Bank, where its security militias detained four of them lately because of their affiliation with Hamas Movement in the occupied territories of Jerusalem and Salfit.

According to local sources on Wednesday, the militias kidnapped member of Katna town's municipal council in Jerusalem Khalil Shamasnah and stormed amid gunfire Hamza mosque in the town in order to remove a green flag flying over the roof.

In Salfit, the militias kidnapped three students from Bani Hassan high school, which raised the number of students who are detained from this school to 18 children under age 17.

The security militias in Al-Khalil city still refuses to release many detainees who received release orders from the higher court of justice.

In another context, a PA security officer told the PIC on condition of anonymity that all the security apparatuses are fully controlled and funded by the US and the European union, and thus they cannot object to bringing the notorious US military company Blackwater to the West Bank.

"The US administration does not consult us about its security contracts because it dictates as it likes and we have to obey," the PA officer underscored.

He stated that the contract with Blackwater is not only confined to providing security protection for American figures in the West Bank and Jerusalem, but also to training the PA security forces.

The officer also affirmed that the PA security apparatuses are divided in terms of supervision into two groups, where the police are fully administrated by the European police, and the preventive security and the intelligence report to the CIA.

In this regard, Israeli war minister Ehud Barak hailed during a visit to Nablus city the security and intelligence cooperation between the PA and Israel in the West Bank, according to the Hebrew military radio.

Barak stated that there are common interests that should continue between the PA forces and Israel in the West Bank.

In a separate incident, the PA preventive security summoned for interrogation two female teachers in Salfit city, Tamador and Hajar Maraei who teach Qur'anic studies in Bani Hassan town.
