Senior Hamas official says PLO will never represent Palestinians again

GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas rallied in Gaza Tuesday to protest nearly 2,000 documents Al-Jazeera leaked this week revealing concessions made by the Palestinian Authority and PLO on Jerusalem, the Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinians' right to return to their homes.

"Hamas was shocked at the concessions Fatah made to Israel over the past years. We gathered today to call Palestinians all over the world to mobilize before they are sold," said Hamas politburo member Khalil Al-Hayya.

Hamas had agreed to authorize the PLO to negotiate in a 2006 national agreement document until the end of the term, Hayya said. The agreement is no longer in effect and no longer recognized, because negotiators failed to honor it, he added.

"We will never recognize them and they will never represent us. The world must know that the concessions do not represent the Palestinians," he said.

"The Al-Jazeera documents present conclusive evidence of the PA's involvement in the murder of Palestinian resistance fighters and incitement of tightening the siege on the Gaza Strip," Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said.

"The documents prove their involvement in Dayton's plan to uproot Hamas in the Gaza Strip and to uproot it in the West Bank through security coordination and joint persecution with Israel," Abu Zuhri said.

"We are dealing with an ally of Israel. We call on our people to take matters to the street to block the road [of treachery] of the Fatah Authority."

Hamas is consulting factions at home and abroad as well as independent parties to crystallize a national stance in the face of the crisis, Abu Zuhri went on to say.
