Minister Safadi Supports Resistance, Says Lebanon Will Not Give Arms As Gift to “Israeli” Enemy


Lebanese caretaker Minister of Economy Mohammad Safadi confirmed his commitment to the national unity, and his insistent work to take Lebanon out the current division status, into a new stage that gathers all the Lebanese together.

Regarding the betrayal accusations, Minister Safadi specified in a political response, his political choices, in which he affirmed his support to the resistance and its arms which will not be aimed but on the "Israeli" enemy.

Minister Mohammad Safadi stated that Lebanon is before a new government to be formed soon, and it will be an opportunity seized by all parties.

He also added, "We refuse incitement even if they [the other team] tried to drag us into it".

He further added that sectarian incitement is the shortest way into conflict, and it should be avoided, clarifying sectarianism is a crime practiced against the country, unless exploited for the best of the country, through respecting each one's position in the governmental apparatuses.

Upon question, concerning the resistance arms, and the capability of enhancing the army weapons, Caretaker Minister of Economy said, "We are with the legitimate weapons only, but when the Army weapons are not enhanced, we will not present a free gift to our "Israeli" enemy, and we will not prevent Lebanon from an ability we seek to have it within our country's defense strategy".

Safadi pointed out, "We are with the resistance against the enemy, and we never stepped back in condemning weapons exploitation in Lebanon, and we refuse any excuse for it".
