Teirawi threatens Hamas to destabilize its rule in Gaza

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Tawfiq Al-Teirawi, a member of Fatah's central committee, has threatened Hamas he will use the atmosphere of anti-division marches to trigger ”more strikes” against it in the Gaza Strip.

Teirawi said during a recent meeting for Fatah activists that the popular campaigns launched Tuesday were only the beginning and that he has plans for new heavily financially backed campaigns, informed sources told the Palestinian information center (PIC).

”Pressure must be exerted on Hamas from all directions, and propaganda must be boosted to incite public opinion against it,” Teirawi said.

Teirawi boasted that he sparked the “youth initiatives” that called for the recent anti-division demonstrations in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.

He said Fatah leaders are in constant contact with each other in order to expand these moves and study options and alternatives day by day.

Separately, several men were arrested and court-martialed on Friday as Palestinian Authority security services continue to target Hamas supporters across the West Bank.

Those arrested include Thaer Shalalida, a student at Al-Khalil university, Adnan al-Husary, from Tulkarem, and Nader Mohammed Jibrin Ubayyan, who was released the same day after a six-day hunger strike.

Ubayyan worked as an engineer in the Bethlehem municipality, but was dismissed and denied permanent benefits payable to him by the PA's prisoner affairs ministry.

Cousins Ashmar al-Natsha and Tamir al-Natsha arrested three weeks ago were seen with signs of severe torture and fatigue when they were court-martialed.

Those detained have histories of arrests by both the Israeli security forces and those of the PA.
