Eric Margolis: ‘US lost Iraq to Israel and Iran’

In October 2002, Canadian war reporter, journalist and author Eric S. Margolis warned Americans that Washington’s invasion of Iraq for a regime change would be “road to folly”. He believed that the war hysteria against Saddam Hussein’s ‘non-existent’ nuclear bombs was created by the pro-Israel individuals and groups who wanted to destroy the only technically advanced Arab neighbor of Israel.
“First, oil. Iraq’s oil reserves are second only to those of Saudi Arabia …. Second, Iraq poses a potential threat to Israel’s regional hegemony and Mideast nuclear monopoly because of its oil wealth and – at least until 1991 – industrial base. For Administration hawks who view the Mideast mainly through the lens of Israel’s strategic needs, crushing Iraq is a high priority. A shattered Iraq, divided into Kurdish, Sunni, and Shia regions, would permanently terminate any future challenge to Israel,” wrote Eric Margolis.
“The Bush administration’s neoconservatives played a leading role in engineering the Iraq conflict. Media acted as megaphones for the war party. Thanks to the drumbeat of lies and insinuations, over 80 percent of Americans believed that Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11,” wrote Eric.
In April 2000, Eric Margolis’s article, Strange Bedfellows: China and Israel, got him the honor of being ‘anti-Semitic’. Later Eric’s criticism of Washington’s policy in the Muslim East brought vicious Zionist Lobby campaign against him. All major US and Canadian TV networks dropped him as being ‘anti-American’ and ‘anti-Semitic’. Last year, Eric Margolis’ 27 year service at Toronto daily The Sun came to a sudden end. He was fired under pressure from ZOG in Ottawa.
After Iraq being bombed to Dark Age - the same warmongers and the army of Zionist liars have been creating a similar hysteria against the Islamic Republic since then.
In his latest article (The American Conservative, Nov. 21, 2011) Eric Margolis has asked the question: “Who won the Iraq War?”. Any political aware person would have responded: “The Americans paid and died for Israel in Iraq – but to Zionists’ surprise, Iran has shared the victory with Israel“. Israel-Firsters like General Martin Dempsey, Leon Panetta, Gen. David Petraeus, Admiral Mike Mullen and John Bolton have already stated that once US occupation forces leave Iraq – the country will fall into Iran’s lap like a ripen apple.
“Up north, US-Israel-backed Kurds established a virtually independent oil state that infuriated Washington’s ally Turkey. The Iraqi Humpty Dumpty is broken and won’t easily be put together again,” Eric writes for Israeli victory.
“$1 trillion spent. Burning hatred for America across the Muslim world. Animosity in Europe, which warned against Bush’s modern crusade. Huge future expenses to sustain an obedient Iraqi regime while anti-US nationalist sentiment there is boiling. A big boost for Iran’s regional influence,” says Eric about America’s ‘war of Iraqis’ liberation’.
The Eric concludes his observation of situation in Iraq by saying: “The original plan to dominate Iraq’s oil and set up bases there to rule the Mideast has so far failed, and at titanic cost. As we look back on this epic folly and again hear calls for war against Iran, we remember the famed words of King Pyrrhus of Epirus, “one more such victory and we are lost.”
According to conservative estimates, 6,290 US soldiers have died and over 100,000 injured since US invaded Iraq on Purim Eve 2003.
