The JTA reported on March 26, 2012 that Tel Aviv has “severed ties with the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) over its investigation of West Bank settlements. The Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem said it was no longer cooperating with the Geneva-based agency and would block its fact-finding team from the West Bank“.On March 22, UNHRC condemned the Zionist regime in five separate resolutions. It passed 36 in favor US alone against it a resolution to send a fact finding panel to the West Bank and East Jerusalem to report the damaging effects of the illegal Jewish settlements in those areas occupied by the Zionist regime in 1967.
The Zionist regime is not ashamed of the fact that the UNHRC has passed 39 resolutions out of organization’s total 91 – demanding the Zionist entity to behave as a normal and civilized nation.
The Council’s leader Laura Dupuy Lasserre said the decision by Israel was “most regrettable.”
“I have no doubt that it is in the interest of Israel to cooperate with the Human Rights Council on this investigative mission, not least so that it can explain its own policies and actions to the independent commissioners once they are appointed,” said the Uruguayan ambassador.
Israeli settlements are illegal under international law, but Israel has continued to expand Jewish communities in the occupied territory.
Several Jewish organization lead by ADL and Israel-First lawmakers have asked Obama administration to follow Israel’s lead and quit UNHRC. The Times of Israel and Jewish UN Watch have equated the future UNHRC investigation “Goldstone report”. However, it cautioned the Zionist regime that by not cooperating with the panel will further isolate Israel from world community without the issue of new Jewish settlements being resolved peacfully.
“But indignation alone is not going to be helpful. It is irrelevant why the UN wants to probe Israel again and again; once the decision of an UNHRC investigation has been made, Jerusalem is well advised to have a clear strategy about how to deal with it, as the now infamous 2009 Goldstone report showed,”wrote Raphael Ahren at Times of Israel on March 25, 2012.
The UNHRC also passed one resolution condemning North Korea; one against Burma; one renewing the mandate of an investigator on Islamic Republic; two resolutions condeming Syria and one on Sri Lanka.
In a related story, Israel’s Supreme Court on Sunday ordered a West Bank settlers’ outpost built on private Palestinian land to be dismantled by August 1, 2012 – rejecting a Zionist regime compromise with the settlers that would have allowed them to stay put for another three years (reported by NYT, March 25, 2012). I suppose, Benji Netanyahu is going to quit country’s Supreme Court for criticizing Zionist regime’s Zionazi activity!
