بالنسبة للبعض ربما يكون البحث المفصل الذي قدمه الأسد عن الهوية والانتماء والبديهيات والمسلمات، نوعاً من الشرح الفلسفي والعقائدي، لكنه في السياسة إعلان لحدود ما يمكن حله والتفاوض عليه في السياسة، وما لا يقبل البحث والتفاوض، فالهوية العربية هي القاعدة التي يقوم عليها الوطن السوريّ، وتنهض بها الدولة السورية، والعروبة هنا بعد حضاري يتسع لغير العرب، لا قبول فيه لهويات موازية، وهذا حسم خالص ومطلق لكيفية المقاربة الممكنة لما يُعرَف بالمسألة الكردية، ووفقاً للهوية تتحدد القضية، وقضية العروبة فلسطين، وقضية سورية المتفرّعة عن الصراع مع كيان الإحتلال هي استعادة الجولان، وما يرقى الى مستوى القضية لا يقبل المساومة، والاحتلال إلى زوال ولو بعد حين، والتركي محتل والأميركي محتل و«الإسرائيلي» محتل.

في مضمون رسائل الهوية والقضية أن التسرّب الفكري من حولها، أسس للأزمة، وإذا كان التسرب الأول هو في أوهام هويات بديلة أو رديفة، والتطرف والتعصب في مقاربتها، ما أسس لظهور الإرهاب، وملاقاة الأجنبي، الذي استقدم بدوره الإرهاب، فإن التسرّب الفكري الثاني هو في تهوين مكانة الهوية والقضية، واعتبارها مجرد وجهة نظر فتساوى الوطني والخائن، وتعادل المتمسك بالدولة مع الإرهابي، وصارت الثوابت الوطنية مجرد سردية يمكن النقاش فيها حول الأزمة، ولا مشكلة بتعديلها بحثاً عن حلول ومخارج من الأزمة، وفي مواجهة هذين التسرّبين يقيم الأسد سداً منيعاً، بردّ الاعتبار لإنشاء خط فاصل بين سورية التي قامت بإرادة شعبها وتوحّده خلف هوية وقضية، وبين المشاريع التي تريد تقاسم فكرة الدولة بعدما فشلت في اقتسام بعض الجغرافيا، والحل السياسي المنشود، لا يجوز أن يقوم على المساس بهذه الثوابت.

الأسوأ عسكرياً وأمنياً أصبح من الماضي، فلا عودة لخطر الاجتياحات ولا خوف من شنّ حروب، ولا من سيطرة الإرهاب، ورزنامة السوريين اليوم هي لمواصلة تحرير ما تبقى تحت الاحتلالين الأميركي والتركي، وإن اقتضى الأمر منح المزيد من الوقت للمساعي السياسية، لكن في نهاية المطاف لا مكان للاحتلال ولا للتقسيم ولا للتقاسم ولا لكل شكل من أشكال المساس بالوحدة والسيادة، والأسوأ سياسياً مضى أيضاً، فليس على الطاولة اليوم مشاريع تقوم على فرضيات تمس وحدة وسيادة سورية، أو تعيد تشكيل دولتها على أسس طائفية أو عرقية دفع السوريون ثمن إسقاطها دماء غالية، أما الأسوأ اقتصادياً فهو نتاج الدمار الذي جلبته الحرب، ولا خطر للمزيد منه، ونتاج تقطيع أوصال البلد وضرب مقدراته الإنتاجية، وقد بدأت استعادة المبادرة على هذا الصعيد باتجاه معاكس، ونتاج الحصار والعقوبات وقد بلغت مداها وقد تم فرز المدى الاقتصادي المتأثر بها عن الممكن بناؤه من خارجها، ونتاج ضياع الودائع المصرفية في لبنان، وقد ترتب عليها سقف ما يمكن أن يترتب، وتعلم السوريون منها درساً بحجم أولوية استثمار أموالهم في بلدهم.

يرسم الرئيس الأسد مهام واقعية أمام ولايته الرئاسية، فهي سياسياً وعسكرياً ولاية استعادة ما تبقى من الجغرافيا إلى الدولة السورية السيدة والموحدة، وهي اقتصادياً ولاية بناء مقدرات الاكتفاء الذاتي صناعياً وزراعياً، وإعادة تأهيل الإدارة وفق قواعد عصرية تسهل علاقة الدولة بالاقتصاد وتحاصر الفساد، وببساطة الخيارات ووضوحها، نبل الأهداف وعظمة التضحيات، ترسم سورية في محيطها نموذجاً جديداً للدولة التي قاومت وانتصرت، وتتقدم في طريق البناء لتقديم مثال الدولة التي تبني وتنهض من الركام، لتشكيل قاعدة إنتاجية تحدثت عنها الأرقام التي قالها الأسد عن ثلاثة آلاف مصنع جديد يدخل حيز العمل، وعن مئة ألف منشأة صغيرة ومتوسطة تملأ فراغ الحاجات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية الناتجة عن الحصار قريباً، لتكتمل في سورية مواصفات الدولة المتقدمة والدولة المقاومة.

Today, Saturday, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will be sworn in for a new term presidential term.
President al-Assad will address the Syrian people today during his swearing-in ceremony with the presence of local and international political and media figures, in addition to representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Damascus.
On May 27, Assad won another Presidential term.
Syrian Speaker of the People’s Council, Hammouda Sabbagh, announced al-Assad the winner of the Syrian presidential elections with 95.1% votes.
The elections were held in 12,000 polling stations across the country, witnessing a heavy voter turnout in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, Latakia, and the Syrian coast.
In eastern Syria, voters defied the “SDF” harassment and made a massive presence at the polling stations.
The Syrian President and his wife, Asma al-Assad, were reported casting their votes in the city of Douma in Eastern Ghouta.
During the swearing-in ceremony for a new term, President Al-Assad says that the legitimacy of the state comes from the people and that all the agents’ plots have been shattered thanks to the steadfastness of the Syrian people.

In his speech to the Syrian people, during the swearing-in ceremony for a new term before the members of the People’s Assembly, today, Saturday, Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad said that “the people who know well the path of freedom spare no effort to defend their rights.”
He added, “Their aim was to divide the country, but the unity of the people was the fatal blow [to their plots]”, stressing that “the Syrians inside their homeland are becoming increasingly challenging and strong.”
He also considered that the wide popular participation in the presidential elections is “evidence of the great national awareness,” saying that “the enemies’ bet was on people’s fear of terrorism, but today, their bet is on turning the citizen into a mercenary.”
He emphasized that “the elections experience has proven that the people are the ones who give legitimacy to the state,” stressing that “transparency is at the top of our priorities for the next stage, and it is the core of the administrative reform program.”
President Al-Assad pointed out that “those who were manipulated to be a card played against their own homeland have turned into resources dedicated to the outside and completely under its control,” noting that “national popular awareness is our fortress and the standard based on which we measure the extent of our ability and strength.”
Apropos of the agents working under Turkish proxy in the Syrian territories, President Al-Assad said, “Some of them are working on suggestions for a constitution that puts Syria at the mercy of the foreigners,” noting that ” all the agents’ plots have been shattered thanks to the steadfastness of the Syrian people.”
Al-Assad: We Call on All Those Who Were Deceived to Return, because Your Homeland Is Your Refuge and Your Haven
He continued, “The biggest reason behind the crisis that we have experienced was the lack of values and morals,” pointing out that “whoever loses his sense of belonging [to his country] can be up to no good…”
The Syrian President addressed all those who were deceived and lured into betting on the fall of Syria to return to it, reiterating: “We say to all those who were deceived that their enemies have exploited them and used them against their own country, yet the homeland remains your refuge and haven, and the Syrian people have a big heart and are forgiving.”
Al-Assad stressed that “the next stage will witness the modernization of laws, the fight against corruption and the exposure of the corrupt, without looking back.” He considered that “the world nowadays is a jungle witnessing the overthrow of countries, support for terrorism, and the taming of peoples through psychological warfare,” considering that “the goal of modern wars is man per se, before the land, and he who wins man wins the war.”
Al-Assad: Speaking of Arab Nationalism Is Not a Viewpoint; It’s an Entire Fate
He said, “We will be defeated both psychologically and intellectually once we believe that our national affiliation is limited to the borderlines set by the occupier, and we will be defeated once we confuse Arab affiliation with Arabized governments. We will also be defeated once we believe that Arab nationalism is merely something made-up that certain parties adopted, which renders it no longer suitable for the requirements of our time.”
He also reiterated his assertion that “[national] affiliation is too big to be limited to a religion, sect, interest, history or geography.”
Moreover, the Syrian President considered that “speaking of Arab nationalism is not a viewpoint that we can agree or disagree with or a certain taste we might like or dislike; rather, it is a matter of fate.”
Al-Assad addressed the Palestinian cause, saying, “The cause closest to us is the cause of Palestine, and our commitment to it stands strong and unwavering no matter what.”
He also said, “We have set our sights on liberating the rest of our land from the terrorists and their Turkish and American sponsors,” adding: “We have confidence in the role of our friends, such as Iran and Russia, whose standing with us played a big role in the liberation.”
Al-Assad also stressed that “it is the duty of the state to support any resistance in Syria against the occupier,” noting that “the credit goes to those who preserved the land and sacrificed themselves for its sake…”
Al-Assad: 3000 Factories Underway in Syria
On the economic situation in Syria, Al-Assad revealed that work is currently underway to build about 3,000 production factories in the country.
While he stressed that “the war and the blockade failed in stopping investment,” he pointed out that “the other part of the problem has to do with willpower.”
Al-Assad also revealed that “Syrian frozen funds in Lebanese banks are estimated between 40 and 60 billion dollars.”
Moreover, he considered that easing the obstacles is necessary, “but it does not compensate for the increase in production, which is the basis for improving the living situation in Syria,” pointing out that the main goal in the next stage is to increase production and it is up to the state to facilitate the process in different sectors.
He also maintained that “solving the electricity problem is a priority to all of us, as this is reflected on life and the environment of investment.”
It is worth noting that Al-Assad took oath at a ceremony to which local and international political and media figures, in addition to representatives of accredited diplomatic missions in Damascus, were invited.
Al-Assad had won, on May 27, the Syrian presidential elections, where the Speaker of the People’s Assembly of Syria Hammouda Sabbagh declared his victory after obtaining 95.1% of the overall votes.
Ahead of the Syrian President’s much-awaited inauguration speech, here is a quick review of how al-Assad stepped in and boosted his country’s stature and resources during his first term, despite a global military war and extreme economic sanctions.
On Saturday, July 17, Bashar al-Assad will begin his new term as Syria’s President, setting his policies for 2021-2028.
On May 27, the Syrian government’s official Twitter account posted: “The Syrians had their say. Bashar al-Assad wins the presidential elections of the Syrian Arab Republic after obtaining 95.1% of the votes at home and abroad.”
The victory achieved in the latest elections has further emboldened al-Assad, the President who managed not only to defeat a global conspiracy against his country but also to bring Syria back to life, against all odds and despite one of the world’s most brutal decade-old wars.
Al-Assad’s First Term: The Survival of the Fittest
During the period between 2014-2021, the conspiracy plan against Syria rapidly escalated. Hundreds of foreign fighters and armed groups sprung up, and it did not take long before the conflict turned into more than just a battle between the Syrian army and terrorist groups. Certain foreign powers took the anti-government side, supporting it with money, weaponry, and armed groups, and as the wreaked chaos worsened, the grip of western-backed extremist organizations, such as “ISIS” and “al-Qaeda”, tightened.
Meanwhile, Bashar al-Assad didn’t flee his country. On the contrary, he got off to a fresh strong start. By most measures, he stood with his country, despite gloomy clouds and rumbling storms. His overall strategy booted terrorist groups out of major Syrian cities. On the personal level, al-Assad always scores high for his attributes, as most Syrians like the way he conducts himself as president.
Terrorist Groups Fall in Syria
At its height, as terrorist groups held about a third of Syria; al-Assad, the Syrian army, and Syria’s allies redefined victory in a thundering War on Terror. The so-called “US-led global coalition” carried out airstrikes and deployed “Special Forces” in Syria, providing financial and logistical support for the terrorist groups since 2014.
By December 2017, terrorist groups started to suffer key losses in Aleppo, Raqqa, and other strongholds. In 2018, the focus of the campaign against the terrorists shifted to eastern Syria. In 2019, they lost their last bastion in eastern Syria, in Baghouz village, after which Syria declared victory over terrorism.
Today, the country is almost clean from armed groups except for the presence of dormant cells along the border with Iraq and in Idlib (a city in northwestern Syria).
US Sanctions: A Trifling Opening Shot
US support for terrorist groups in Syria was a shot in the dark, and as it failed to win the military war on Syria, they initiated a new type of war represented by Caesar sanctions.
In mid-June 2020, the US government announced the implementation of the “Caesar Act” with a flurry of sanctions. Yet a closer look at the 15 sanctions by the US Department of State and the 24 sanctions by the Department of Treasury reveals a brutal plan to destroy Syria’s economy and inflict utmost suffering on its people.
A Desperate Plan within a Failed One
Apropos the US military and economic war on Syria, there is much more yet to come. Syria and its allies have succeeded in defeating the flurry of sanctions aimed at stopping the al-Assad government from reconstructing Syria. They also buried a US plan to change the demography of Syrian and divide the country.
Rebuilding Syria’s Future
The main question remains: How will the future of Syria unfold? At the dawn of al-Assad’s new term, Syria continues to stand strong and united. Furthermore, the Syrians have high hopes that their President will take effective actions in the course of boosting the economy and achieving overall prosperity, despite the US sanctions.
Besides, al-Assad exerted strained efforts to reconstruct his country, focusing on projects with the highest likelihood of significant economic returns and benefits to quality of life. In other words, al-Assad, side by side with his people, is conveying a clear message to the world which declares the end of the global war on Syria; al-Assad will remain in power, treading the path of Syria out of all the challenges and crises. Syria’s allies also plan to be on hand as al-Assad rebuilds Syria to help it rise from the ashes, by handling the security and economic threats imposed on Syria.
The Second Term: Defying the Odds
To put things into perspective, the last election witnessed al-Assad securing almost 95.1% of the votes, so this cannot but be seen as a sign of strength for Syria and al-Assad himself, as well as his electoral campaign.
Today, the elections had taken place, and Syria has come out victorious, with an insistence on maintaining its vital role, considering that al-Assad plans to finance the infrastructure that the terrorist groups have been targeting and bombing for the past 10 years.
The Syrian President will also tackle the US sanctions on Syria, aiming to accelerate economic growth, strengthen society, and encourage youth empowerment.
Just like in 2006, when both Ehud Olmert and George Bush declared that the “invincible IDF” had, yet again, achieved a “glorious victory” and the entire Middle-East almost died laughing hearing this ridiculous claim, today both the US and Israeli propaganda machine have declared another “glorious” victory for the “Jewish state of Israel” cum “sole democracy in the Middle-East”. And, just like in 2006, everybody in the region (and in Zone B) knows that the truth is that the Zionist entity suffered a huge, humiliated, defeat. Let’s try to unpack this.
First, a few numbers. The combat operations lasted two weeks. All other missile numbers are in dispute. Rather than trust this or that source, I will simply say that Hamas fired many thousands of missiles into Israel. Some, probably less than 50%, were truly intercepted by the Israeli air defenses, others hit in no man’s land, and some actually landed and caused plenty of destruction and at least 12 deaths. The Israelis executed hundreds of artillery and airstrikes causing massive destruction in the Gaza strip and killing about 250 Palestinians. Again, these numbers are guesstimates and they don’t really tell the full story. To understand the story, we need to forget about these numbers and look at what each side was hoping for and what each side achieved. Let’s begin with the Israelis:
The Israeli scorecard
To understand Israel’s goals in this war, we first need to place this latest war in its context, and that context is that Israel was comprehensively defeated in Syria. To substantiate this thesis, let’s remember the goals of the Zionists when they unleashed a major international war against Syria. These objectives, as listed in my July 2019 article “Debunking the Rumors About Russia Caving in to Israel” were:
The initial AngloZionist plan was to overthrow Assad and replace him with the Takfiri crazies (Daesh, al-Qaeda, al-Nusra, ISIS – call them whatever you want). Doing this would achieve the following goals:
Bring down a strong secular Arab state along with its political structure, armed forces, and security services.
Create total chaos and horror in Syria justifying the creation of a “security zone” by Israel not only in the Golan but further north.
Trigger a civil war in Lebanon by unleashing the Takfiri crazies against Hezbollah.
Let the Takfiris and Hezbollah bleed each other to death, then create a “security zone,” but this time in Lebanon.
Prevent the creation of a Shia axis Iran-Iraq-Syria-Lebanon.
Break up Syria along ethnic and religious lines.
Create a Kurdistan which could then be used against Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran.
Make it possible for Israel to become the uncontested power broker in the Middle-East and force the KSA, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, and all others to have to go to Israel for any gas or oil pipeline project.
Gradually isolate, threaten, subvert, and eventually attack Iran with a broad regional coalition of forces.
Eliminate all centers of Shia power in the Middle-East.
As we all know, this is what actually happened:
The Syrian state has survived, and its armed and security forces are now far more capable than they were before the war started (remember how they almost lost the war initially? The Syrians bounced back while learning some very hard lessons. By all reports, they improved tremendously, while at critical moments Iran and Hezbollah were literally “plugging holes” in the Syrian frontlines and “extinguishing fires” on local flashpoints. Now the Syrians are doing a very good job of liberating large chunks of their country, including every single city in Syria).
Not only is Syria stronger, but the Iranians and Hezbollah are all over the country now, which is driving the Israelis into a state of panic and rage.
Lebanon is rock solid; even the latest Saudi attempt to kidnap Hariri is backfiring. (2021 update: in spite of the explosion in Beirut, Hezbollah is still in charge)
Syria will remain unitary, and Kurdistan is not happening. Millions of displaced refugees are returning home.
Israel and the US look like total idiots and, even worse, as losers with no credibility left.
Seeing their defeat in Syria, the Zionists did what they always do: they used their propaganda machine to list an apparently neverending victorious strikes on supposed “Iranian targets” in Syria. While a few civilian simpletons with zero military experience did buy into this nonsense, the truth about Israeli operations in Syria is simple: the Syrian air defenses have successfully prevented the Israelis from striking at important, sensitive, targets, and they Israelis have been forced to declare as major victories the destruction of empty barns as “destruction of important IRGC headquarters” thereby “proving” to a few naive folks in Zone A and to themselves (!) that the IDF is still as “invincible” as it “always was”. As for the Neocons, they doubled-up on that and declared that 1) Russian air defenses are useless 2) that Russia and Israel work hand in hand and 3) that the Israelis are still invincible. Yet if any of that was true, why has Israel failed to achieve a single one of its goals? And why are both the Russians and the Iranians still in Syria were the Russians just finished a 2nd runway at Khmeimim and they have just deployed a group of Tu-22M3 at that air base from where they can now threaten any ship sailing in the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. In their otherwise “free time” they can deliver tons of bombs and missiles to the remaining Takfiri forces in Syria.
As I have been saying for many years now, the truth is that the IDF is a poor fighting force. Why? First, they have the exact same problem as the USA (and the KSA, for that matter): they rely on expensive technology, but don’t have good combat-capable “boots on the ground”. That is now how modern wars are won (see here for a list of popular misconceptions about modern wars).
In its recent history, the entire gamut of Israeli “elite” forces (including the air force, the navy, the artillery and even the Golani Brigade) got its collective butt handed to them by about 1000 and only lightly armed regular Hezbollah fighters in 2006: keep in mind that the elite Hezbollah forces were deployed only north of the Litani river to protect Beirut against a possible land invasion by Israel. Instead of taking Beirut or “disarming Hezbollah” (that was an official goal!), the Israelis could not even control the small town of Bint Jbeil located right across the official Israeli border! So much for being “invincible”!
What the IDF is very experienced at is terrorising Palestinian civilians and executing what could be called a slow-motion genocide of the Palestinian people. The problem with Gaza now is the same that the failed invasion of Lebanon in 2006 has revealed: just like the Lebanese in 2006, the Palestinians of 2021 are not afraid of the Zionists anymore. Furthermore, with a great deal of help from Iran and others, Hamas in Gaza is now much, much better armed than in the past. True, some of its missiles are decidedly low tech and not very effective (low accuracy, small warheads, simple trajectory, limited range), but Hamas also has shown some pretty decent UAVs too. Most importantly, from now on for Hamas it is only one way: up the “quality ladder” (just like the Houthis did in Yemen, starting with modest drones but eventually getting very capable ones).
The other major goal of the Israelis in this war was to prove to the world (and, even more importantly for the always narcissistic self-worshipping Israeli cowards, to themselves!) that their “Iron Dome” air defense network was the “super-dooper most bestest” in the world (no doubt, due to the famed “Jewish genius”!). It now appears that at best, the Israelis intercepted somewhere around 30-40% of the Hamas missiles. The way the Israeli hid this is by claiming that their fancy shmancy Iron Drone did not even try to engage missiles which were not deemed dangerous. But in the age of the ubiquitous smartphone, that kind of silly nonsense can easily be debunked (including by showing the total chaos in the Israeli skies or, for that matter, the missile strikes on Israeli military objectives). While the full Iron Dome air defense system probably works marginally better than the quasi-useless US Patriot, the Israeli air defenses are clearly at least a generation behind the Russian ones, including the S-300s the Russians sold to Syria (again, in the age of of the ubiquitous smartphone, this is not hard to prove).
It is crucial to remember that Hamas’ missiles are much inferior to those of the Houthis and the Syrians, and even more inferior when compared to Hezbollah or Iranian drones and missiles! In other words, the “invincible” IDF can’t deal with even its weakest, least sophisticated enemies (Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad) and the grotesquely expensive Iron Done cannot protect the Zionists from any determined missile attacks by the Resistance coalition (Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Hezbollah, Iran and Russia).
In their utter despair, the Zionist entity did what the AngloZionists always do when they fail to defeat a military forces: they will turn their wrath on the civilian infrastructure and murder as many as they can. They will also strike highly symbolic targets such as the International Press Center in Gaza or a Red Crescent hospital (under the pretext that Hamas, which is the democratically elected local government) has offices there (this is clearly a F-you to those who condemn Israel for violating international law). To a normal human being, this sounds both obscene and ridiculous. But remember, the Israelis are first and foremost narcissists and they have no means of imagining how normal human beings think or feel. All these guys can feel is self-worship and hatred for all “others”.
We could say that in this war, the Palestinians defeated both military high tech and truly medieval type of genocidal hatred.
In other words, far from showing how “invincible” the Zionist entity is, this latest war against the Palestinians has shown beyond reasonable doubt that the IDF cannot deal with any of its enemies.
Besides missiles and bombs, the Israelis love to use terror, as their ideology has convinced them of two things: the Arabs only understand force and we, the Israelis, are invincible. But this begs the question of why the Israelis did not dare to move into Gaza, not even symbolically. Yeah, I know, the official doxa of Zone A is that “Biden called Netanyahu and told him to stop”. As if “Biden” could give orders to the Israelis!
The truth is that even with a casualty rate of 10:1 in the IDF’s advantage and no armor or artillery, the Palestinians are much more willing to engage in street battles than the IDF. Would the IDF eventually win a ground battle against Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad? Maybe, probably, the objective advantages in everything (except courage!) for the Israelis is so huge that no amount of skills and courage can forever negate the immense superiority in means of the Israelis.
However, as most people in the West tend to forget, wars are but means towards a political goal. If the IDF decided to basically flatten Gaza and kill many thousands of Palestinians at the cost of casualties probably in the hundereds, then this would be politically suicidal for the Zionist regime. This is why I offer this very basic conclusion:
During the latest Gaza war, deterrence did work. But only in the sense that the Palestinians successfully deterred the Israelis from launching a ground attack against Gaza.
There is another crucial political development which should also be noted: while both Iran and Hezbollah did give their full political support to Hamas+Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the latter did not request any assistance. In other words, not only did the Palestinians defeat the Israelis, but they did so absolutely alone, with no help from the other Resistance members.
Again, those Zone A civilians who believe that Israel is scoring huge victories in Syria on a quasi daily basis won’t get it, which is par for the course. But you can be darn sure that at least most of the IDF top commanders know the true score and for them it is yet another huge disaster.
There is also a political factor to consider. While there have been coordination resistance actions by the Palestinians in Israel (proper, as defined by the UN), this is the first time when the Palestinians from Gaza, those from the Occupied Territories and those in “Israel” truly fought, if not side by side (yet!), then at least at the same time and in a common cause. This is a major political victory for Hamas+Palestinian Islamic Jihad and a major problem for Fatah and the Zionists. Now let’s look at the rest of the Palestinian scorecard:
The Palestinian scorecard:
Let’s start by the obvious one: the Palestinians were not defeated. This victory can be further subdivided in the following:
The Palestinian leadership has mostly physically survived, it still exists as a local authority. Plenty of Palestinians were murdered, but that did not affect the operational capabilities of the Palestinian forces (any more than the IDF succeeded in affecting Iranian operational capabilities in Syria).
The Palestinian leadership has also survived politically. It was not blamed by the “Palestinian street” for starting the war, nor was it blamed for how it executed it. As for Fatah, it is now, by all accounts, lost somewhere in a political no man’s land which, admittedly, it richly deserves for its incompetence, corruption and subservience to Israel and the USA.
Militarily speaking, the Palestinian missile strikes were not nearly as effective than, say, Hezbollah (nevermind Iranian!) strikes would have been, but, hey, they made huge progress and we can all rest assured that the Palestinians of Gaza will, sooner or later, catch up with the Houthis and, further down the road, maybe even Hezbollah.
By many accounts, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad have made major political inroads into the Palestinian political scene outside Gaza. Even in spite of a truly immense hasbara effort by the Israelis, the international public opinion was blaming Israel for the orgy of violence.
It is interesting to note here that the famous Israeli journalist Gideon Levy has written an article for Ha’aretz entitled “Israeli Propaganda Isn’t Fooling Anyone – Except Israelis” which was further subtitled “’Hasbara’ is the Israeli euphemism for propaganda, and there are some things, said the late ambassador Yohanan Meroz, that are not ‘hasbarable.’ One of them is Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians.” This is how Levy’s article began:
And propaganda shall cover for everything. We’ll say terrorism, we’ll shout anti-Semitism, we’ll scream delegitimation, we’ll cite the Holocaust; we’ll say Jewish state, gay-friendly, drip irrigation, cherry tomatoes, aid to Nepal, Nobel Prizes for Jews, look what’s happening in Syria, the only democracy, the greatest army. We’ll say the Palestinians are making unilateral moves, we’ll propose negotiations on the “settlement bloc borders,” we’ll demand recognition of a Jewish state and we’ll complain that “there’s no one to talk to.” We’ll wail that the whole world is against us and wants to destroy us, no less.
Now comes the best part: Levy wrote this on Jun. 4, 2015 and updated it on Apr. 10, 2018 – years before the current disaster! Since then, things have only gone south for the IDF and the Israelis in general. Just the blowback from the war in Syria is, for the IDF, a true disaster.
Of course, “Israel” is still worshipped and faithfully served by many ruling classes worldwide (that is one of the functions of the Empire, to enforce this), but that officially lauded Israel is viewed with disgust and revulsion on most of the planet. Hence the inevitable failure of the truly galactic PR effort to brainwash the regular people into believing that Israeli is a polyyanish country, a “place without people for a people without country”, etc. etc. etc. This “Ziolatry”, if you wish, was effective when the PLO was blowing up Jewish grade schools in Western Europe, but today it has lost almost all of its traction, especially amongst thinking people.
The sad and disgusting reality about the Zionist entity is truly coming out, seeping under the propaganda walls of the Empire, and slowly but inevitably resulting in a common reaction of outrage and utter disgust for what is nothing else but the last officially racist country on the planet, the only country with an open air concentration camp it surrounds on all sides, the only country which truly, openly and sincerely does not give a damn about international law or about the lives of non-Jews (while calling their own lives sacred, of course!). This is a state which constantly repeats the mantra about the supposedly “sacred” blood of Jews while, at the same time, committing a slow motion (but very real) genocide of the Palestinian people while using non-stop terrorist attacks against any country daring to defy the order of the latest, and hopefully last, wannabe “superior race” in human history. This is also why the “crime of crimes” for politically correct and successfully brainwashed people is to declare that Israel has no right to exist. This is such a major crimethink that I want to conclude by committing it right now and asking others to join me in this “crimethink”!
Israel has no right to exist whatsoever first and foremost because it is an artificial creation of West European imperialist powers. Second, it is a country which has always engaged in atrocities and massive violations of international laws and norms. Instead, Israel is based on a racist ideology which is, for all practical purpose, indistinguishable from Hitler’s Nazi ideology (both National Socialism and Zionism have the same roots in both time, space and culture, both being products of European secularism and nationalism). For these reasons, Israel, and the Zionist ideology which supports it, are both a clear and present danger for international peace and stability (for details on Zionism as an ideology and its toxicity, please see here). Furthermore, the only possibly way for the Palestinian people to ever recover their land and their rights under international law is for the Zionist “regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time” (to quote the often mistranslated sentence by Ayatollah Komenei). By the way, this awareness also presupposes a clear understanding that the so-called “Two State Solution” (2SS) is an impossibility. Yes, I know, the 2SS is currently the only one under international law, but that is hardly surprising since the state of Israel was created with not only many of the trappings of “being an internationally recognized state” but also with the shameful complicity of the country which won WWII. There is one thing which Israel has in common with the so-called “Republic of Kosovo”: they will be the very first to be liberated as soon as the AngloZionist Empire finally crashes visibly (of course, it has already crashed, hence the many disastrous outcomes for the USA and Israel on the international scene, but that is still denied officially in Zone A and,of course, by the AngloZionist propaganda and those who pay attention to it.
In truth, there is only one true “solution” to this war: the so-called “One State Solution”, meaning that those who live in this land will get to choose their leaders and lifestyles according to the old “one person, one vote” principle. All other “solutions” simply perpetuate the current genocide!
As for those Jews who still want an ethnically pure state of Israel, they can either grow up and get real, or they can choose to colonize some other planet. As long as they don’t persecute local lifeforms, that might work. But if they do this will all happen again, over and over.
Conclusion: “Gaza” and the future of the Zionist entity
I want to end here with what I believe is a glance at the future (or lack thereof!) of Israel. The website Islamic World News Analysis Group (which I highly recommend!) recently posted what it claims to be a video of a new Iranian combat drone named “Gaza” described as so: “The Gaza drone, capable of carrying 13 bombs and 500 kilograms of equipment, as well as 35 hours of flight up to a radius of 2,000 kilometers, is capable of carrying out a variety of combat and intelligence operations. According to the published images, it seems that the Gaza drone uses the Rotary Bomb Launcher mechanism under its fuselage, which can carry up to 5 bombs. This is the first Iranian drone to use this mechanism. 8 bombs are also installed under the wings and in total this drone is capable of carrying 13 bombs”. Here is the footage of this new drone. Take a look for yourself and imagine what the next round of this campaign to liberate Palestine might look like.

استقبل الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد اليوم الثلاثاء وفداً من “المؤتمر القومي الإسلامي” ضم رؤساء أحزاب ونواباً وشخصيات سياسية ونقابية من عدد من الدول العربية والإسلامية، وفق بيان صادر عن الرئاسة السورية.
ووفق البيان، بحث الأسد مع الوفد، خلال اللقاء، في فكرة القومية العربية، والهوية والانتماء. وتمّ التأكيد أن ما حدث مؤخراً في قطاع غزة، والانتصار الذي تحقق هناك، وتحرّك الشعب الفلسطيني في جميع المناطق، وتحرّك الشعب العربي وتفاعله مع هذا الحدث، أثبتت أنه على الرغم من كل المخططات التي تمّ تحضيرها وتسويقها للمنطقة العربية، فإن الشعب العربي في كل أقطاره ما زال متمسكاً بعقيدته وهويته وانتمائه.
وشدد المجتمعون على أهمية التوجّه إلى الشباب، وضرورة التجديد في اللغة التي يتم توجيه فكرة القومية من خلالها إلى الأجيال الشابة.
واعتبر الأسد أن فكرة القومية، في معناها الأساسي والجوهري، هي فكرة انتماء، ويجب عدم تقديم الفكرة القومية في الإطار النظري العقائدي المجرد، وإنّما يجب أن تكون هذه الفكرة مبنية على الحقائق، وأن يتم الربط بين الأفكار المبدئية والعقائدية، وبين مصالح الشعوب.
وأشار الرئيس السوري إلى أن التحدي الذي يواجه النخب الفكرية العربية هو “إقناع الناس بأن هناك علاقة مباشرة بين الانتماء والمصلحة”، معتبراً أنّ “الحالات التقسيمية والانعزالية والطائفية إذا حدثت في دولة عربية، فإنها ستنتقل إلى الدول الأخرى، وبالتالي لا يمكن أن ننظر إلى الدول العربية إلا كساحة قومية واحدة”.
بدورهم، أكدّ أعضاء “المؤتمر القومي الإسلامي” للرئيس السوري، أن صمود الشعب السوري وثباته في وجه كل ما تعرض له خلال السنوات الماضية “أعادا الاعتبار إلى المشروع القومي”. وأشاروا إلى أن سوريا دفعت ولا تزال ثمن مواقفها القومية ودعمها للمقاومة، وتصديّها للمخططات والمشاريع في المنطقة.
ورأى المجتمعون أن “من حق سوريا على كل الشعوب العربية والإسلامية، وكل القوى الحرة في العالم، أن تقف إلى جانبها، لأن الدفاع عن سوريا هو دفاع عن النفس وعن المصير والمستقبل، ولأن الانتصارات التي حدثت في لبنان أو في فلسطين لم تكن لتحدث لولا صمود الشعب السوري”.
كذلك، وجّه وفد “المؤتمر القومي الإسلامي” التهنئة إلى الشعب السوري على النجاح في الاستحقاق الانتخابي الرئاسي، معتبراً أنه “أظهر عبر هذا الاستحقاق روح التحدّي التي تمكّن من خلالها من الصمود والثبات، وبرهن أن الحربين الإرهابية والاقتصادية اللتين تعرض لهما لم تتمكنا من كسر إرادته الحرة وقراره المستقل”.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said the country is capable of overcoming the blockade and create more investment opportunities.
On Wednesday he visited a number of factories and facilities at Adra industrial city in Damascus countryside which were established under the circumstances of the war and blockade, but their owners have succeeded despite all difficulties and challenges.
During the visit, Assad inspected the production situation in the industrial city and met the industrialists and discussed with them means of boosting production and overcoming obstacles that may face industry in Syria.
“Syria has genuine potentials to overcome the blockade and lessen its impacts and create more investment opportunities,” Assad said in a press statement.
“I am very happy with my visit today to Adra industrial city and meeting with a number of Syrian industrialists… this city which has been on the front line between the army and terrorists since many years…but it has withstood… my visit today aims to stress the priority of economy in the upcoming stage,” he added.
“What I have seen today can’t be described except as excellent, taking into consideration the circumstances to which this region has lived during the years of war and the conditions to which the Syrian economy passes through… I believe that this visit is very important for anyone to raise his morale through the morals taken by the supervisors of the work, owners of industries and workers in the industrial sectors.”
He added, “This patriotic spirit that I have already touched at supervisors of the work and workers gives several messages in Syria… while I was inspecting the facilities, the first thing that came to my mind is a comparison, which comes spontaneously, between those who offered the national capitals during hard circumstances for creating job opportunities and supporting the economy, and those persons who fled with their capitals since the first days.
“When the signs of war have begun, they took the capitals they had collected in their country and migrated, at the time, the Syrian citizen was coming through a tunnel; Security tunnel, livelihood and economic tunnel, and he/she has thought that there would be too many brothers who would offer assistance,” the Syrian president said, state-run SANA news agency reported.
He went on to say, “Actually, What I have already seen sends many messages; messages to persons who possess the potentials, capabilities and resources but they lack the courage and spirit of the initiative to launch work and production, sends messages full of hope and confidence … confidence that during those circumstances ,the industrial sector has been able to remain and withstand, therefore, the most important message that we get from this visit is that if we have the will to build the homeland ,then we are able to build.”
Assad added that we are in need for the capital, in need for strong will and the patriotic sense, “and I felt that these three elements are existed with each one I met today, these three basic factors give momentum to many investors to establish industries in different areas, investments or productive facilities in other areas in Syria.”
“In fact, those persons are the ones on whom the Syrian society and homeland can depend in building economy and homeland in general…and certainly, the State will stand by them because they deserve all support as they carry on today the war on a front which is a front of work and a front of economic war… the Syrian citizen expect from you a lot and the State supports you in order to reflect these joint efforts as numbers in the economy, job opportunities and a prosperity for the homeland,” he concluded.

The news coming from Damascus and the capitals of the countries of the region and the world follows an increasing number of embassies that are reopening or strengthening their diplomatic level, after years in which a large International-Arab alliance wanted to besiege Syria and weaken its state, and for this, it devoted huge funds and enormous capabilities and a media and intelligence war and the recruitment of hundreds of thousands of armed terrorists from all worldwide, and the diplomatic estrangement was one of the tools of war that sought to overthrow Syria.
After a long decade of Syrian steadfastness full of sacrifices, Syria succeeded, with its state, army and president, to foil what had been planned for it, and succeeded in establishing honest alliances that realized the dangers of what had been prepared for Syria and its impact on stability in the region and the world.
As a result of these sacrifices and alliances, new equations and balances were formed that were difficult to break, which were translated in the military field by the retreat of the control of terrorist groups and the presence of their operators from large areas of the Syrian geography, and the blockage of the road to pressure attempts to impose sovereign concessions on Syria that affect its unity, identity and constants.
This difficult decade of the twenty-first century witnessed a fate similar to the failure that befell the plans of the project of the American hegemony over the world project, of which the war on Syria was one of its most prominent chapters, by betting on the fallouts that winning the overthrow of Syria would carry, and the results of the overall failure of the project began to leave their repercussions on the American interior and articulates the framework for policy change toward recognition of failure, seeking to adapt to the changes, and in this context the US withdrawal from Afghanistan is taking place, negotiations are on returning to the nuclear agreement with Iran, preparing for an American-Russian summit, and trying to draw new lines for American positioning on multiple settlement lines.
Despite the harsh and unjust sanctions imposed by Washington on Syria, and the negative and hostile stances taken by the administration of US President Joe Biden towards all the sovereign entitlements in Syria, the most recent of which is the position on the presidential elections, Washington has lost the ability to control the alliance that it gathered behind it under the title of overthrowing Syria, so that it continues to isolate itself from Syria, which is regaining its health and presence, and its regional and international alliance is escalating to more present and powerful positions, and that is why returning to Syria seemed to translate the attempt of its owners not to stay away from what Syria represents and will represent it in the near future in drawing the region’s equations.
Breaking the deadlock in diplomatic relations with Syria is the first step to retreat from this positioning, which did not bring any of these Arabs and non-Arabs, except to remain outside the equation of influencing the vital addresses in which Syria stands at its heart.

بعد عقد طويل من الصمود السوري المليء بالتضحيات، نجحت سورية بدولتها وجيشها ورئيسها، بإسقاط ما دُبّر لها، ونجحت بإقامة تحالفات صادقة أدركت مخاطر ما تمّ تحضيره لسورية وتأثيره على الاستقرار في المنطقة والعالم، وتشكّلت بفعل هذه التضحيات والتحالفات معادلات جديدة وتوازنات يصعب كسرها، ترجمت في الميدان العسكري بتقهقر سيطرة الجماعات الإرهابيّة وحضور مشغليها عن مساحات واسعة من الجغرافيا السورية، وبانسداد الطريق على محاولات الضغط لفرض تنازلات سياديّة على سورية تمسّ وحدتها وهويتها وثوابتها.
شهد هذا العقد الصعب من القرن الحادي والعشرين مصيراً مشابهاً للفشل الذي أصاب مخططات مشروع الهيمنة الأميركية على العالم، الذي كانت الحرب على سورية أحد أبرز مفرداته، بالرهان على التداعيات التي سيحملها الفوز بإسقاط سورية، وبدأت نتائج الفشل الإجمالي للمشروع تترك تداعياتها على الداخل الأميركي وترسم إطار تغيير السياسات نحو التسليم بالفشل، والسعي للتأقلم مع المتغيرات، وفي هذا السياق يجري الانسحاب الأميركي من أفغانستان، والتفاوض على العودة إلى الاتفاق النووي مع إيران، والتحضير لقمة أميركيّة روسيّة، ومحاولة رسم خطوط جديدة لتموضع أميركيّ على خطوط تسويات متعددة.
رغم العقوبات القاسية والظالمة التي تفرضها واشنطن على سورية، والمواقف السلبية العدائية التي تتخذها إدارة الرئيس الأميركي جو بايدن تجاه كل الاستحقاقات السيادية في سورية، وآخرها الموقف من الانتخابات الرئاسية، فقدت واشنطن القدرة على ضبط الحلف الذي جمعته خلفها تحت عنوان إسقاط سورية، ليواصل الانعزال عن سورية التي تستعيد عافيتها وحضورها، ويصعد حلفها الإقليمي والدولي الى مواقع أكثر حضوراً وقوة، ولهذا بدت العودة الى سورية ترجمة لمحاولة أصحابها عدم البقاء بعيداً عما تمثله سورية وستمثله في المستقبل القريب في رسم معادلات المنطقة، وكسر الجمود في العلاقات الدبلوماسية مع سورية أولى الخطوات للتراجع عن هذا التموضع الذي لم يجلب لأي من هؤلاء عرباً وغير عرب الا البقاء خارج معادلة التأثير في العناوين الحيوية التي تقف سورية في قلبها.
