RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation authority has decided to deport the Palestinian detainee Shirin Sheikh Khalil to the Gaza Strip on Sunday at conclusion of her sentence despite the fact that her family lives in Ramallah.
Abdul Nasser Farwana, a specialist in prisoners' affairs, on Saturday said that Shirin, 24, settled in Ramallah along with her family since 1998 and was arrested on 13/7/2003 where she was sentenced to six years in jail that end on Sunday 12/4/2009.
Farwana telephoned her sister in Ramallah who said that they were waiting for Shirin's return home but the IOA, despite numerous appeals, is insisting on deporting her to Gaza.
He pointed out that the IOA has gotten used to deporting prisoners to Gaza or Jordan at various pretexts such as not having a West Bank ID such is the case with Shirin, who carries a Gaza ID, or that the detainees do not have permission for permanent residence in the West Bank, which entails deporting them to Jordan as what happened with 8 detainees a few days ago.
