OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Israeli tourists in the Egyptian Sinai peninsula have been advised against staying there fearing attacks against them, a senior Israeli security said.

Hebrew media quoted the head of Israel's counter terrorism department Nitzan Nurieli as saying that Israeli tourists should not remain in Egypt, adding that "imminent" danger was facing them.

He claimed that Hamas and what he called international Jihad have decided to target Israelis or even kidnap and take them to Gaza Strip!

Trained elements are now present in Sinai and ready for such attacks and own the necessary means to carry out their mission, he elaborated.

Israeli security experts advised tourists not to head to Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Mauritania, Columbia, Kashmir and southern Thailand.

Meanwhile, Egyptian security on Monday evening blasted six tunnels on the border strip between Sinai and Gaza.

The tunnels were being used to supply Gaza with goods and fuel after the tightened two-year Israeli siege and closure of the Egyptian Rafah crossing led to scarcity of all kinds of goods and fuel in the beleaguered Strip.
