GAZA, (PIC)-- The Movement of Islamic Jihad said Monday that Israel mounted a fierce media campaign against the Palestinian resistance as a prelude to an intended military aggression on the Gaza Strip, stressing that it takes the Israeli threats seriously.
In a press statement, Islamic Jihad spokesman Daoud Shihab called on the Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza to coordinate their positions to confront these threats in case they were translated on the ground.
Shihab castigated some Arab media outlets for parroting the Israeli propaganda and portraying Gaza as a hotbed of terrorism, warning that such reports would cripple the state of solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right to resist the Israeli occupation.
He urged all media outlets, journalists and politicians to confront and expose this propaganda and focus on the active role of the Palestinian resistance in defending its land and people against the Israeli war machine.
In a related context, the Palestinian government strongly denounced the escalating Israeli military attacks on Gaza people, affirming that these attacks point to Israel’s aggressive nature.
Spokesman Nunu stressed the Palestinian people’s right to defend themselves and called for creating a mechanism agreed upon by all resistance forces in Gaza to deal with the new field changes.
For his part, Hamas lawmaker Marwan Abu Ras expressed, during his visit to Morocco recently at the invitation of the justice and development bloc in the Moroccan parliament, his appreciation to the king, his government and people for all the support they provide for the Palestinian people.
In a statement, Abu Ras called for making more efforts to break the blockade on Gaza and end the suffering of its people who are exposed to the ugliest attempts to eradicate them.
