DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Ahmed Jibril, the secretary general of the popular front for the liberation of Palestine – general command, has accused the Egyptian regime of conspiring against the Palestinian people through building the steel wall along the borders with Gaza Strip.

Jibril in a press statement on Sunday asked the Egyptian people to express their refusal of their government's policies against the Palestinians.

For his part, Dr. Salah Al-Bardawil, one of Hamas's leaders, said that Cairo was launching a smear campaign against Hamas that went in harmony with the PA in Ramallah.

He said in a press statement on Sunday that no contacts were currently ongoing between his Movement and Egypt in light of the state of nervousness prevailing in Cairo.

The Hamas official said that the propaganda campaign against Hamas in Egyptian newspapers was parroting what the Ramallah authority was fabricating to distort the image of Hamas.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian popular committee to break the siege on Gaza announced that it would organize a relief convoy to Gaza next Friday.

Mohammed Al-Sakhawi, one of the Egyptian labor party leaders and a member of the committee, said that the committee members agreed during their last meeting on rejecting the steel wall being built by Cairo on its borders with Gaza.

He expected the Egyptian security apparatuses to intercept the convoy and even to detain some of its activists.
