OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage (AFEH) has disclosed that the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) had started a new wave of diggings underneath the Old City of occupied Jerusalem.

AFEH said in a statement on Wednesday that the excavations concentrated on the area between Bab Al-Amud and Bab Al-Sahera.

It said that the IOA was targeting to interlink the tunnels already existing under the Aqsa Mosque and link them to the other network of tunnels in the vicinity of the holy Mosque.

The foundation warned that the excavations target wiping out Arab and Islamic landmarks in Jerusalem and paving the way for construction of the alleged temple.

Meanwhile, a group of Jewish fanatics stormed the Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday amidst strict police escort.

Local sources said that the group members deliberately provoked the Muslim worshipers and Aqsa guards as the policemen prevented anyone from approaching the group.
