WASHINGTON, (PIC)-- Israel has renewed its rejection to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty despite the call by American president Barack Obama on all countries to sign the agreement.
Since it did not join the agreement signed back in 1970, Israel is not compelled to state whether it possesses nuclear weapons or allow international inspectors to search its nuclear installations, which experts believe had produced 200 nuclear warheads.
Israeli war minister Ehud Barak said that there was no way to pressure Israel into signing the treaty.
Obama at conclusion of his nuclear summit refused to comment on Israel's nuclear program, adding that he always urged all countries to be members of the treaty.
